Report by Consul Astwood on the trade between San Domingo and the United States.

In presenting to the Department my first annual report in connection with the trade of the United States and San Domingo, I have had a great many difficulties to surmount to familiarize myself with the com. mercial relations existing between the two places, having been but six months in charge of the consulate; but with incessant research I have been enabled to gather the following authentic facts, which I trust will go far to increase the trade between this beautiful island and the United States.
