An Act to define and amend the law relating to certain kinds of
Specific Relief.

WHEREAS it is expedient to define and amend the law relating to certain
kinds of specific relief obtainable in civil suits; It is hereby enacted as
follows:-

PART I.
PRELIMINARY.

1. This Act may be called the Specific Relief Act, 1877.

It has been extended, by notification under s. 5 of the Scheduled Districts Act, 1874 (XIV of 1874), printed, General Acts, Vol. II, Ed. 1898, p. 467, to the following Scheduled Districts, namely:

S. 9 has been extended, by notification under s. 5 of the Scheduled Districts Act, 1874 (XIV of 1874), to the Taluks of Bhadrachalam and Rakapilli and the Rampá Country, see Gazette of India, 1879, Pt. I, p. 630; and to Kumaon, Garhwál, the Tarái Parganas, the scheduled portion of the Mirzapur District, and Jaunsar Báwar, see Gazette of India, 1886, Pt. I, p. 452.
