LORD, we beseech thee, in thy continual pity cleanse and defend thy Church; and, because it cannot continue in safety without thy succour, preserve it evermore by thy help and goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ORD, we pray thee that thy grace may be given unto us, and that we may thankfully feel its influence, and not continue in sin that grace may abound; but be continually given to all good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LORD, we beseech thee, absolve thy people from their offences; that through thy bountiful goodness we may all be delivered from the bands of those sins, into which by our frailty we have been drawn. Grant this, O heavenly Father, for thy mercy's sake; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Epistle. Coloss. i. 3-12; The Gospel. St. Matth. ix. 18-26.

THE FIVE AND TWENTIETH SUNDAY.

The Collect.

TIR up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the wills of thy faithful people; that they, plenteously bringing forth the fruits of righteousness, may of thee be plenteously rewarded; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

TIR up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the zeal of thy faithful people, that the yoke of Jesus may become easy to them; that their Christian love may work all the miracles of grace, till from grace it pass to glory, from

earth to heaven, from duty to reward, from the weakness of a commencing and growing affection to the consummation of eternal charity; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

If there be any more Sundays before Advent Sunday, the Service of the Sixth, or of the Fifth and Sixth Sundays after the Epiphany shall be taken in to supply so many as are here wanting. And if there be fewer, the overplus be omitted: Provided that this last Collect, Epistle, and Gospel shall always be used upon the Sunday next before Advent.
