Friendly Inftructor; OR, A COMPANION FOR YOUNG LADIES, AND YOUNG GENTLEMEN: IN WHICH Their Duty to GOD and their PARENTS, In plain and familiar DIALOGUE S. With a Recommendatory PREFACE, by The SIXTH EDITION. Adorned with CUTS. LONDON: Printed for J. BUCKLAND in Pater nofter-row. 1770. The Recommendatory PREFACE. I Have perused these Dialogues with fo much pleasure, that had the author of them been intirely unknown, I fhould have wifhed they might have been made publick. But I must defire it with the greater earneftness, as they were written by a Lady, with whofe valuable character I have been acquainted many years, and who has been long employed in the education of children, with great wifdom, piety, and tenderness, fo as to have been inftrumental, by the divine bleffing, in forming feveral to a temper and conduct in many amiable inftances refembling her own. |
