Poisonous substances as scheduled in an appendix to the Public Health Ordinance No. 4. The import of hashish and raw opium is forbidden, and the export from Palestine, and the cultivation, purchase, sale and possession in Palestine of hashish are punishable offences. The manufacture of drugs is controlled by a Public Notice issued in 1920 relating to the exploitation of Public Establishments and Unhealthy Trades. Active measures have been taken by the police to combat the evil. There is no compulsory inspection, but facilities are given by the Department of Health for free medical treatment.
