To be said or sung.

AWAKE, my soul, and with the sun,
Thy daily stage of duty run:
Shake off dull sloth, and early rise
To pay thy morning sacrifice.
Thy precious time mispent, redeem;
Each present day thy last esteem;
Improve thy talent with due care;
For the great day thyself prepare.
In all thy doings be sincere,

Keep conscience as the noon-day clear;
Think how all-seeing God thy ways,
And all thy secret thoughts surveys.

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him, all creatures here below,
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

O Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy upon us.

Thou that sittest at the right hand of the Father, have mercy upon us.

PSALM XXXII.

TBLESSED is he whose unrighteousness is forand whose sin is covered.

essed is the man unto whom the Lord puteth no sin and in whose spirit there is no guile.

For while I held my tongue : my bones consumed away through my daily complaining.

For Thy hand is heavy upon me day and night and my moisture is like the drought in

:

summer.

I will acknowledge my sin unto Thee and mine unrighteousness have I not hid.

I said, I will confess my sins unto the Lord : and so Thou forgavest the wickedness of my sin.

For this shall every one that is godly make his prayer unto Thee, in a time when Thou mayest be found: but in the great waterfloods they shall not come nigh him.

Thou art a place to hide me in, Thou shalt preserve me from trouble: Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.

I will inform thee, and teach thee in the way wherein thou shalt go and I will guide thee with Mine eye.

Be ye not like to horse and mule, which have no understanding: whose mouths must be held with bit and bridle, lest they fall upon thee.

Great plagues remain for the ungodly but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord, mercy embraceth him on every side.

Be glad, O ye righteous, and rejoice in the Lord and be joyful, all ye that are true of heart. Glory be to the Father, &c,

As it was in the beginning, &c.

PSALM CXIX.

:

;

[ocr errors]

I CALL with my whole heart hear me, Q Lord, I will keep Thy statutes.

Yea, even unto Thee do I call help me, and

I shall keep Thy testimonies.

:

Early in the morning do I cry unto Thee : for in Thy word is my trust.

:

Mine eyes prevent the night-watches that I might be occupied in Thy words.

Hear my voice, O Lord, according unto Thy loving-kindness: quicken me, according as Thou

art wont.

They draw nigh that of malice persecute me : and are far from Thy law.

:

Be Thou nigh at hand, O Lord for all Thy commandments are true.

As concerning Thy testimonies, I have known long since that Thou hast grounded them for

ever.

:

Glory be to the Father, &c.

As it was in the beginning, &c.

PSALM CXXX.

OUT of the deep have I called unto Thee, O Lord Lord, hear my voice.

:

O let Thine ears consider well; the voice of my complaint.

If Thou, Lord, wilt be extreme to mark what is done amiss: O Lord, who may abide it? For there is mercy with Thee; therefore shalt Thou be feared.

I look for the Lord; my soul doth wait for Him in His word is my trust.

:

My soul fleeth unto the Lord before the morning watch, I say, before the morning watch.

O Israel, trust in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy and with Him is plenteous redemption.

And He shall redeem Israel: from all his sins.

Glory be to the Father, &c.
As it was in the beginning, &c.

LESSON.

LET this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of man and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross. Wherefore God hath very highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name: that at the Name of JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.

I

I will make my prayer unto Thee, O Lord,
In an acceptable time.

BELIEVE in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And of all things visible and invisible:

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, Begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of very God, Begotten, not made, Being of one substance with the Father; By Whom all things were made, Who for us men, and for our salvation came down from heaven, And was in

carnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, And was made man, And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures, And ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead: Whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, The Lord and Giver of life, Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spake by the Prophets. And I believe one Catholick and Apostolick Church. I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, And I look for the Resurrection of the dead, And the life of the world to come. Amen.

Let us pray.

Then let all kneeling pray.

O God the Father, Maker of all things,
Have mercy on us.

O GOD the Son, Redeemer of the world,
Have mercy on us.

O GOD the Holy Ghost, the Giver of all grace, and the Sanctifier of the Church,

Have mercy on us.

O Holy Trinity, Three Persons and One GOD,

Have mercy on us.

Forgive us the sins of our lives past, and remember not the evil thoughts and unlawful
