DAILY OFFICES Morning IN the Name of the FATHER, and of the Son, and of the HOLY GHOST. *IN And in the morning, JESUS, rising up before day, went into a solitary place, and there prayed. R LORD, teach us to pray. Ο UR FATHER, Which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us Amen. against us. from evil. I (All standing.) BELIEVE in GOD the FATHER ALMIGHTY, Maker of heaven and earth: And in JESUS CHRIST His only SON our LORD, Who was conceived by the HOLY GHOST, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried, He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead, He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of GOD the FATHER ALMIGHTY; From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the HOLY GHOST; The holy Catholick CHURCH ; The Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the life everlasting. Amen. A Hymn. TOW that the daylight fills the sky, N That He, in all we do and say, Would keep us free from harm to-day: Would guard our hearts and tongues from strife, Would keep our inmost conscience pure, So we, when this new day is gone, With conscience by the world unstained, All laud to GOD the FATHER be; TO GOD the Holy PARACLETE. Amen. INTO Thee have I cried, O LORD. UNTO R And early shall my prayer come before Thee. O let my mouth be filled with Thy praise! R That I may sing of Thy glory and honour all the day long. Ry And put out all my misdeeds. R And renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Thy presence, Ry And take not Thy HOLY SPIRIT from me. WE Let us pray. WE give Thee thanks, Holy LORD, FATHER Almighty, Everlasting GOD, Who hast been pleased to bring us through the night to the hours of morning; we pray Thee to grant us so to pass this day without sin, that at eventide we may again give thanks to Thee; through JESUS CHRIST, Our LORD. Amen. O LORD, have mercy this day on all for whom we ought to pray. On Thy Holy CHURCH Universal. On the Queen. On Albert Edward Prince of Wales, the Princess of Wales, and all the Royal Family. On the Lords of the Council, and all the Nobility. On the Magistrates. On all in danger, necessity, and tribulation. On all sick persons. On our enemies, persecutors, and slanderers. Ry We beseech Thee to hear us, Good LORD. Then shall follow the Memorials for the Season and Day. Then (all standing.) PROPER PSALMS. After which may be read a short Chapter from Holy Scripture. RO CHRIST, SON of the Living GOD, have mercy upon us. Thou that sittest at the right hand of the FATHER, Ry Have mercy upon us. Let us humbly confess our sins to ALMIGHTY GOD. (All.) I CONFESS to GOD ALMIGHTY, the FATHER, the company of Heaven, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word, and deed; through my fault, through my own fault, through my most grievous fault; wherefore I supplicate ALMIGHTY GOD to have mercy upon me. May the ALMIGHTY GOD have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to Everlasting Life.. |
