For pay of one hundred nurses (female), sixty-seven thousand eight hundred and eighty dollars; and the Superintendent and members of the Female Nurse Corps shall hereafter be paid at the following rates: Superintendent Nurse Corps, one thousand eight hundred dollars

per annum; female nurses, fifty dollars per month for the first period of three years' service; fifty-five dollars per month for the second period of three years' service; sixty dollars per month for the third period of three years' service; and sixty-five dollars per month after nine years' service in said Nurse Corps; and all female nurses shall hereafter be entitled, in addition to the rates of pay as herein provided, to ten dollars per month when serving beyond the limits of the States comprising the Union and the Territories of the United States contiguous thereto (excepting Porto Rico and Hawaii), and to cumulative, Cumulative leave of absence with pay at the rate of thirty days for each calendar year of service in said corps; and when serving as chief nurses their pay may be increased by authority of the Secretary of War, such increase not to exceed thirty dollars per month; and the superintendent Allowances to shall be entitled to the same allowances, when on duty, as the members of the Nurse Corps.

CHAP. 157.—An Act To reorganize and enlist the members of the United States Naval Academy Band.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives Naval Acad- of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That Band reorgan- the Naval Academy Band shall consist of one leader, who shall have the pay and allowance of a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps; one second leader, with pay at the rate of fifty dollars per month; twenty-nine musicians, first class, and eleven musicians, second class; and shall be paid from "Pay of the navy."

SEC. 2. That the members of the Naval Academy Band as now organized shall be enlisted in the navy and credited with all prior service of whatever nature as members of said band, as shown by the records of the Naval Academy and the pay rolls of the ships and academy; and the said leader and the enlisted musicians of the band shall be entitled to the same benefits in respect to pay, emoluments, and retirement arising from longevity, reenlistment, and length of service as are, or may hereafter become, applicable to other enlisted men of the navy: Provided, That no back shall be allowed to the leader or to any mempay ber of the said band by reason of the passage of this act.
