At what age was this rite performed?-Gen. 17:12.

23 WHAT question did he ask?

What else could be done on the Sabbath, without violating the law of Moses 'in regard to that day?

Would not these men kill a sacrifice, or circumcise a child on the Sabbath ?

Then should they be angry with him for healing the lame man on that day?

24 WHAT therefore did Jesus say to them? Is this an important rule ?

Should we be very careful in deciding on the conduct of others?

Would it be right for you to say, that a child whom you saw walking on the Sabbath, was breaking God's law?

Would he violate this law?

How?

Suppose he were coming to Sabbath school, or going after a physician, would that be violating the Sabbath?

For what was the Sabbath given us?

How many years of Sabbaths has a person lived, who is fifty years old?

Can any one complain, then, that he has not time to attend to religion?

Will you repeat the command to keep the Sabbath? — Ex. 20:8-11.

How many Sabbaths have you lived ?

Have you kept them in such a manner as to please God?

LESSON XXI.

Jesus continues teaching in the Temple.

CH. Vii. 25-36.

25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?

26 But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is; but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me ?

30 Then they sought to take him, but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh,

will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me and where I am, thither ye cannot

come.

35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come ?

DID the Jews consider it a violation of the law
of the Sabbath, to circumcise one of their
children, or offer sacrifice on that day?

Sabbath?

bath? Luke 6: 5.

Did Jesus know that his conversation would provoke the Jews to kill him?

25 WHAT did some of the people say ?

Was it the common people, or the scribes and

Pharisees, who sought to kill Jesus ? — Mark 12:37.

26 WHAT question did they ask among themselves? Do you think the rulers acted ignorantly, and supposed Jesus a bad man ?

Then what do you think of them ?

Did Jesus stop teaching the people, or reproving the wicked, because they sought to kill him ?

If wicked men should command a minister, that he must not preach any more, would it be right for him to obey them?

Why did he so perfectly know his character and will?

He declares himself sent of God; then how should he be regarded as a Teacher ?

30 DID they so regard him?

What did they then seek to do?

Did they succeed?
What reason is given?

Can wicked men accomplish their base purposes without God's knowing it?

Will this make you feel safe, when you are doing that which pleases God, though it may displease men?

31 How did his teaching affect the people? What did they say ?

Which do you think acted most wisely, those who believed on him, or those who sought to kill him?

Which would you have done if you had been there?

32 DID it please the Pharisees when they heard that the people said such things about Jesus? Should you think, from what the people said, that they were inclined to receive him as the Savior of the world?

What did the Pharisees then do ?

Could they ever come to heaven, if they rejected Jesus?

Do you think any one from this school can go where Jesus is?

Cannot all of them, if they believe on his name? - Chap. 3:16.

35 THEN What did the Jews inquire among themselves?

Should you think, from this, they understood what he meant ?

Were all persons, besides Jews, called Gentiles ? (See GENTILE, Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge.)

Who were the dispersed among the Gentiles? -1 Pet. 1: 1.
