BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the fifth day of January, in the fiftieth year of the Independence of the United States of America, A. D. one thousand eight hundred and twenty six, JOHN S. THOMPSON, of said District, hath deposited in this office, the title of a Book, the right whereof he claims as proprietor, in the words following, to wit:

"The Christian Guide to a right understanding of the sacred Scriptures; Designed as a Select Commentary on the four Evangelists, harmonized and chronologically arranged in a new translation on the basis of Wakefield's Version to which are prefixed a brief memoir of the Author, and a copious introduction to the New Testament. By JOHN SAMUEL THOMPSON, Minister of the first Universalist society, Utica, N. Y. The Holy Scriptures are able to make thee wise unto Salvation, through faith in Christ Jesus.-Paul.

In conformity to the act of Congress of the United States, entitled, "Anact for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of Maps, Charts, and Books to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned," and also to an act entitled, "An Act, supplementary to an act, entitled, · An act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of Maps, Charts and Books to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned, and extending the benefits there of to the arts of Designing, Engraving, and Etching historical and other prints."
