18. Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.

COMFORT AND SUPPORT IN

AFFLICTION.

Gen. xvi. 11.... The Lord hath heard thy affliction. Gen. xxi. 17....Fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

Ex. iii. 7. And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry...I know their sorrows.

Ex. iv. 81....And when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

Deu. xxxiii. 27. The eternal God is thy refuge.

2 Sa. xvi. 12. It may be that the Lord will look on mine affliction, and that the Lord will requite me good...
