8. The desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

GOD REQUIRES OF US JUSTICE AND JUDGMENT.

Ex. xxiii. 6. Thoù shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.

7. Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

Lev. xix. 15. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

35. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.

36. Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God. Deu. xvi. 18. Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates:... and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

19. Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

Deu. xxi. 15. If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be her's that was hated:

16. Then it shall be when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn :

17. But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath for he is the beginning of his strength the right of the firstborn is his.

Deu. xxiv. 16. The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

17. Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge.

Deu. xxv. 13. Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.

14. Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.

15. But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and a just measure shalt thou have.

16. For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the Lord thy God.
