Pro. xviii. 6. A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.

7. A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

8. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts.

19. A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Pro. xx. 3. It is an honour for a man to cease from strife but every fool will be meddling.

19. He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

Pro. xxvi. 17. He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.

20. Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. 21. As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

Pro. xxviii. 25. He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife.

Pro. xxix. 8. ... But wise men turn away wrath.

20. Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

22. An angry man stirreth up strife.

Ecc. v. 2. Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
