them, and embrace them, and confefs that we are Strangers and Pilgrims on the Earth; and we feek and defire a better Country, that is, a heavenly; and we look for a City which hath Foundations, whofe Builder and Maker is God.

1. t Except ye fee Signs and Wonders, ye will not believe; but bleffed are they that have not feen, and yet have believed.

u Faith cometh by Hearing, and Hearing by the Word of God; but the Word preached doth not profit, if it be not mixed with Faith in them. that hear it.

w Thou believeft that there is one God; thou doft well: The Devils alfo believe and tremble. But know, O vain Man, that as the Body without the Spirit is dead, fo Faith without Works is dead alfo.

* A Man is justified by Faith in Chrift; but Faith which worketh by Love; for by Works Faith is made perfect. And they only fhall be efteemed Saints that keep the Commandments of God, and the Faith of Jesus.

Add therefore to your Faith Virtue; for if while we feek to be juftified by Chrift, we are found Sinners, our Faith cannot fave us.

z Lord we believe, help thou our Unbelief; and increase our Faith; that we may be in the Number of them that believe, to the faving of the Soul.

Mark 9. 24.

* With the Heart Man believeth unto Righteousness, and with the Mouth Con- Profeffion feffion is made unto Salvation.

Be not afhamed of the Teftimony of our Lord. Whofoever fhall confefs me before Men, (faith our Lord and Saviour Jefus Chrift) him will I confefs also before my Father which is in Heaven: But whofoever thall deny me before Men, him will I alfo deny before my Father which is in Heaven: And whofoever fhall be afhamed of me, and of my Words, in this finful Generation; of him alfo fhall the Son of Man be afhamed, when he cometh in the Glory of his Father, with the holy Angels.

If we deny him, his Name, or his Faith, he alfo will deny us.

Many Deceivers are entered into the World, who confefs not that Jefus Chrift is come in the Fleth. There are likewife certain ungodly Men, who turn the Grace of God into Lafciviousness, and deny the only Lord God, and our Lord Jefus Chrift.

e

Every Spirit that confeffeth not that Jefus Chrift is come in the Flesh, is not of God.

f Whosoever denieth the Son, the fame hath not the Father; and he fhall not fee Life; but the Wrath of God abideth on him.

ortThey that profefs that they know God, but in Works deny him, are abominable.

Truft. Who is among you that feareth the

Lord? Let him trult in the Name of the

Lord, and stay upon his God.

Truft in the Lord with all thine Heart; trust in him at all Times. In all thy Ways acknowledge him, and he fhall direct thy Paths. Commit thy Works unto the Lord, and thy Thoughts fhall be established. Commit thy Way unto him, trust also in him, and he fhall bring it to pass.

* My Soul, wait thou only upon God, for my Expectation is from him. The Lord is my Portion, faith my Soul, therefore will I hope in him. He is my ftrong Habitation, whereunto I may continually refort.

1 Wait on the Lord: be of good Courage, and he shall strengthen thine Heart, who is the Confidence of all the Ends of the Earth, and of them that are afar off upon the Sea.

m

Judgment is before him, therefore trust thou in him.

"Cast thy Burden upon the Lord, and he shall fuftain thee.

• Be careful for nothing, cafting all your Care upon God; for he careth for you.

P Take no Thought for your Life, faying, What fhall we eat or what fhall we drink? or wherewithal fhall we be clothed? For your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all thefe Things.

• When my Soul fainteth within me, I will remember the Lord; what Time I am afraid I will truft in him.

The Lord is my Light and my Salvation; whom thall I fear? The Lord is the Strength of my Life, of whom fhall I be afraid? In God I have put my Trust, I will not fear what Flesh can do unto me.

• He also shall be my Salvation; though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.

God is our Refuge and Strength; therefore will we not fear, though the Earth be removed, and though the Mountains be carried into the Midft of the Sea.

" Therefore we both labour and fuffer Reproach, because we truft in the living God, who is the Saviour of all Men, efpecially of thofe that believe. And therefore we endure Affliction, as feeing him that is invifible.

He whofe Heart is fixed, trufting in the Lord, fhall not be afraid of evil Tidings, but in Quietness and Confidence fhall be his Strength. He hath fet the Lord always before him, and because the Lord is at his Right-hand, he fhall not be moved.

* Be not moved away from the Hope of the Gofpel which ye have heard; but be ye Followers of them who through Faith and Patience inherit the Promifes. Behold the Hufbandman waiteth. for the precious Fruit of the Earth, and hath long

All the Days of my appointed Time will I

We have the Sentence of Death in ourselves, that we thould not truft in ourselves, but in God, which raifeth the Dead.

a Lean not unto thine own Understanding. He that trusteth in his own Heart is a Fool.

b The rich Man's Wealth is his ftrong City, and as a high Wall in his own Conceit: He maketh Gold his Hope; he faith to the fine Gold, Thou art my Confidence. But he that trufteth in his Riches fhall fall, for Riches profit not in the Day of Wrath."

Truft ye not in a Friend; put ye not Confidence in a Guide, but look unto the Lord; and wait for the God of your Salvation..

Put not your Truft in Princes, nor in the Son of Man, in whom there is no Help: For it is better to truft in the Lord, than to put Confidence in Man. It is better to truft in the Lord, than to put Confidence in Princes.

e Curfed is the Man that trufteth in Man, and maketh Flesh his Arm, and whofe Heart departeth from the Lord. But happy is he whose Hope is in the Lord his God, who made Heaven and Earth. For it is good that a Man fhould both hope and quietly wait for the Salvation of the Lord.
