9. The Honourable the Governor in Council directs, that a royal salute be fired this day from the garrison of Bombay, in honour of this victory, and that a similar salute be fired at all the principal military stations under this presidency, on the receipt of this order.

10. Annexed are returns of the killed and wounded, and of the ordnance captured from the enemy during this action, as furnished to this Government by Major-General Sir C. Napier.

I HAVE the honour, by direction of his Excellency the Commander in Chief, to forward, for the purpose of being laid before the Right Honourable the Governor-General, a copy of a letter from Major-General G. Pollock, C. B. No. 606, of the 28th ultimo, forwarding copies of MajorGeneral M'Caskill's dispatches, dated the 16th September and 20th October last,* reporting the operations of the troops under his orders on the march to and from Cabool.
