duly prepared and laid before Her Majesty in Council a scheme, bearing date the thirteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and fortythree, in the words and figures following, viz.:

"We, the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for England, in pursuance of an Act, passed in the session of Parliament held in the sixth and seventh years of the reign of His late Majesty King William the Fourth, intituled "An Act for carrying into "effect the reports of the Commissioners ap"pointed to consider the state of the Established "Church in England and Wales, with reference "to ecclesiastical duties and revenues, so far as "they relate to episcopal dioceses, revenues, and

patronage ;" and of an Act, passed in the session of Parliament held in the third and fourth years of your Majesty's reign, intituled "An Act to carry into effect, with certain " modifications, the fourth report of the Commis"sioners of Ecclesiastical Duties and Revenues;" and of another Act, passed in the last session of Parliament, intituled "An Act to alter and "amend the law relating to ecclesiastical houses "of residence," have prepared, and now humbly lay before your Majesty in Council, the following scheme, for improving the demesne lands belonging to the see of Bangor.

"Whereas by the secondly-recited Act it is enacted, that, by the authority therein provided, and for the purpose of fully carrying into effect any of the provisions of the same Act, any arrangement may, from time to time, be made, with the consent in writing, under the corporate seal of any bishop, for the sale, transfer, or exchange of any lands, tithes, or other hereditaments belonging to the see of such bishop, or for the purchase of other lands, tithes, or other hereditaments in lieu thereof:

And whereas by the thirdly-recited Act it is enacted, that, whenever it shall appear to be expedient to improve any episcopal house of residence, or the demesnes thereof, it shall be lawful, by the authority in the said first-recited Act provided, with the consent under the hand and episcopal seal of the bishop, to make such arrangements as may by such authority be deemed most expedient for improving any episcopal house of residence, or for improving the demesnes adjoining to any such house, by the purchase of any land, tenement, or hereditament in the immediate neighbourhood, or within the view thereof:

"And whereas by the said thirdly-recited Act it is further enacted, that the provisions of the said secondly-recited Act, relating to the sale, transfer, or exchange of any lands or other hereditaments belonging to any bishop, shall extend and may be applied to any of the purposes of the now reciting Act:

"And whereas the lands, tenements, and hereditaments, particularly described in the schedule hereunto annexed and marked A., are situate in the immediate neighbourhood and within the view of the demesnes of the episcopal house of residence belonging to the said see of Bangor; and it appears to us to be expedient, for the purpose of improving the said house of residence and the demesnes thereof, that the same lands, tenements, and hereditaments should be obtained and added to such demesnes, so as to become the permanent property of the said see of Bangor; and, to that end, that an exchange should be forthwith effected of the lands, tenements, and hereditaments, particularly described in the schedule hereunto annexed, marked B., belonging to the said see of Bangor, which are inconveniently situated and far removed from the rest of the

demesnes of the said see, in exchange for the said firstly-mentioned lands, tenements, and hereditaments described in the said schedule marked A. :

"And whereas we have satisfied ourselves as to the validity of the title to the said lands, tenements, and hereditaments described in the said schedule marked A.; and that the same lands, tenements, and hereditaments are of equal value at the least with the lands, tenements, and hereditaments described in the said schedule marked B.:

"Now, therefore, we humbly reccommend and propose, with the consent of the Right Reverend Christopher Bishop of Bangor, in testimony whereof he hath hereunto set his hand and episcopal seal, that he, the said Christopher Bishop of Bangor, and the persons seized of or entitled to, or having power to exchange, the said lands, tenements, and hereditaments so described in the said schedule marked B., and all other necessary or proper parties (if any) may be hereby respectively authorized and empowered, with

our consent

signified under our common seal, to make and execute, or cause to be made and executed, such deed or deeds as may be found necessary for fully carrying into effect the said exchange, to the intent that the fee simple and inheritance of the lands, tenements, and hereditaments, so described in the said schedule marked A., may be secured and conveyed and permanently annexed to the said see of Bangor; and to the intent that the fee simple and inheritance of the lands, tenements, and hereditaments, so described in the said schedule marked B., may be effectually conveyed and assured unto such persons, and may be limited and settled to such uses and in such manner as the several persons, who are now respectively seized of or entitled to, or have the power to exchange,

the said lands, tenements, and hereditaments, so described in the said schedule marked A., may respectively direct or require :

"And we further recommend and propose, that nothing herein contained shall prevent us from recommending and proposing any other measure relating to the said see of Bangor, in conformity with the provisions of the said Acts, or either of them."

SCHEDULE A.

No. 1. All that piece of land, containing three acres, one rood, and fourteen perches, or thereabouts, situate in the parish of Bangor, in the county of Carnarvon, and bounded on the north west side thereof by a piece of land belonging to James Wyatt, Esq., on the north east side thereof by land belonging to the said Christopher Bishop of Bangor, and on all other sides thereof by part of the park adjoining to the episcopal house of residence, and forming part of the demesnes of the see of Bangor.

No. 2. And also all those three small detached pieces of land, containing altogether one rood and twenty-three perches, situate in the said parish of Bangor, and bounded on the north west sides thereof respectively by the road leading from Bangor to Garth-point, and on all other sides thereof by other part of the demesne lands belonging to the said see of Bangor.

No. 3. And also all that piece of land (formerly part of a piece of land called Caehir), containing three acres and fourteen perches, or thereabouts, situate in the said parish of Bangor, and bounded on the north west side thereof by the said road leading from Bangor to Garth-point; on the south east side thereof by a rivulet, called the "Bishop's

River," and which separates the same from lands belonging to the trustees of the Friar's Grammar School at Bangor; on the south and south west sides thereof partly by one of the three small pieces of land lastly herein before described, and partly by other part of the demesnes belonging to the said see of Bangor; and on the north and north east sides thereof partly by the piece of land, containing one acre, three roods, and twenty-nine perches, which is firstly-described in the said schedule marked B., and partly by the sea shore.

No. 4. And also all that other piece of land (formerly part of a piece of land called Cae Scybor), containing one acre, or thereabouts, situate in the said parish of Bangor, and bounded on the south east side thereof by land belonging to the Honourable Edward Gordon Douglas Pennant; on the north west side thereof by the said rivulet called the Bishop's River, and which separates the same from other part of the demesnes belonging to the said see of Bangor; on the south west side thereof by the town of Bangor; and on the north east side thereof by land belonging to the said trustees of the said Friar's Grammar School.
