Majesty in Council a rule, bearing date the twenty-second day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty-three, in the words and figures following, that is to say:

"We, the Lords of the Committee of Her Majesty's Privy Council, appointed for the consideration of matters relating to Trade and Foreign Plantations, humbly lay before your Majesty in Council the following rule for suspending the operation of the therein-mentioned Act and Articles of Fishery Regulation, with respect to the fisheries on the coast of Ireland (that is to say):

"Whereas by an Act, passed in the session of Parliament held in the second and third years of the reign of Her present Majesty, intituled

An Act to carry into effect a convention ' between Her Majesty and the King of the French, 'concerning the fisheries in the seas between the 'British islands and France,' it is, amongst other things, enacted, that it shall be lawful for the Lords of the said Committee, by a rule or rules to be made by them, from time to time, and approved of by Her Majesty, with the advice of Her Privy Council, to suspend the operation of the said Articles and of this Act, or such part of them as to them shall seem fit, with respect to the fisheries on the coast of Ireland, or on any part thereof, so long as such fisheries shall be carried on exclusively by the subjects of Her Majesty, and also, with the like approval, to make such bye laws as to them shall seem fit for enforcing the said Articles and this Act, on the said coast of Ireland, or on any part thereof, as soon as the same shall be frequented for the purpose of fishery by French fishermen :

We, therefore, in pursuance of the powers of the said Act, do hereby make the following

rule, subject to the approbation of Her Majesty (namely), that the said Act and Articles of Regulation shall be suspended, with respect to the fisheries on the whole of the coasts of Ireland, so long as such fisheries shall be carried on exclusively by the subjects of Her Majesty."

THE following Addresses of condolence to the Queen, on the occasion of the Death of His late Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex, having been. transmitted to the Right Honourable Sir James Graham, Bart. Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Home Department, for presentation, were presented accordingly to Her Majesty, who was pleased to receive the same very graciously:

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Charles Le Blanc, Esq. to be Magistrate of Her Majesty's Settlements in the Falkland Islands.

Her Majesty has also been pleased to appoint William Brade Lockhart, Esq. to be Provost Marshal of the Island of Dominica.

THE Queen has been pleased to present the Reverend Robert Hill Whyte to the church and parish of Dryfesdale, in the presbytery of Lochmaben and county of Dumfries, vacant in consequence of the Reverend David Buchan Douie, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend James Landel Rose to the church and parish of Markinch, in the presbytery of Kirkcaldy and county of Fife, vacant in consequence of the Reverend James Sieveright, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend Robert Stewart to the church and parish of Lochs, in the presbytery of Lewis and county of Ross, vacant in consequence of the Reverend Robert Finlayson, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend George Greig to the church and parish

of Kirkpatrick-Durham, in the presbytery of Dumfries and stewartry of Kirkcudbright, vacant in consequence of the Reverend George John Duncan, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend Walter Foreman Burtt to the church and parish of Ferry-Port on Craig, in the presbytery of St. Andrews and county of Fife, vacant in consequence of the Reverend William Nicolson, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend George Addison to the church and parish of Arbirlot, in the presbytery of Arbroath and county of Forfar, vacant in consequence of the Reverend John Kirke, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.
