The Queen has been pleased to grant unto James M'Laren, Esq. Lieutenant-Colonel of the 16th (Grenadier) Regiment of Native Infantry, in the service of the East India Company, on the Bengal Establishment, and Companion of the Most Honourable Military Order of the Bath, Her royal licence and permission, that he may accept and wear the insignia, of the third class, of the Order of the Dooranée empire, which His late Majesty Shah Shooja-ool-Moolk, King of Affghanistan, was pleased to confer upon him, in testimony of His Majesty's approbation of his services in the late affairs in Affghanistan; and that he may enjoy all the rights and privileges thereunto annexed; provided, nevertheless, that Her Majesty's said licence and permission doth not authorize the assumption of any style, appellation, rank, precedence, or privilege appertaining unto a Knight Bachelor of these realms:

And also to command, that the said royal concession and especial mark of Her Majesty's royal favour be registered, together with the relative documents, in Her Majesty's College of Arms.

The Queen has been graciously pleased, on the recommendation of Field Marshal the Commander in Chief, to appoint John Blakiston, Esq. late Brevet Major and Captain on half-pay of the 27th Foot, to be one of Her Majesty's Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, vice Shakeshaft, deceased.

The Queen has been graciously pleased, on the nomination of Lord Forester, to appoint John Gregory, Esq. to be one of Her Majesty's Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, vice Gray, who retires.

The Queen has been pleased to present the Reverend John MacIver to the church and parish of Sleate, in the presbytery and isle of Sky, vacant in consequence of the transportation of the Reverend Alexander MacIver, late Minister thereof, to the parish of Dornoch.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend Simon Frazer to the church and parish of Nigg, in the presbytery of Tain and county of Ross, vacant in consequence of the Reverend John Macalister, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

ORDERS for the Court's going into Mourning, on Sunday next the 24th instant, for His late Majesty King William Frederick Count of Nassau, Father of His Majesty the King of the Netherlands, viz.

The Ladies to wear black silk, fringed or plain linen, white gloves, necklaces and ear-rings, black or white shoes, fans and tippets.

The Gentlemen to wear black, full trimmed, fringed or plain linen, black swords and buckles. The Court to change the Mourning, on Sunday the 31st instant, viz.

The Ladies to wear black silk or velvet, coloured ribbons, fans and tippets, or plain white, or white and gold, or white and silver stuffs, with black ribbons.

The Gentlemen to wear black coats, and black or plain white, or white and gold, or white and silver stuff waistcoats, full trimmed, coloured swords and buckles.

And, on Thursday the 4th of January next, the Court to go out of Mourning.

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Colonel Edmund Morris, Companion of the Most Honourable Military Order of the Bath, to be Civil Commissioner and Magistrate for the district of George, in the colony of the Cape of Good Hope.

The Queen has been pleased to present the Reverend John James Campbell to the church and parish of Stonykirk, in the presbytery of Stranraer, and shire of Wigtown, vacant in consequence of the Reverend Robert M'Neil, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.
