NOTICE.

remain for him but two

WITH the November Number for 1835, the Proprietor of the COURT MAGAZINE addressed a Note to his Subscribers, soliciting their aid in extending the circulation of his Work; and, trusting that he should not be disappointed in his expectations of the result of this appeal, he at the same time considerably reduced the price, and made several improvements, which much increased the expenses of the Work. After a trial of Twelve Months, he finds that the increase in the sale has not by any means answered his expectation, and that he has incurred a very considerable loss. In this situation, there courses to pursue either to raise the price to its old standard, or to reduce the expense by omitting some unimportant portion of the work. He has chosen the latter; and, after mature deliberation, and consulting with many Subscribers, he has determined to omit that section of the Magazine devoted to the Fashions. But as this even will not leave him any profit, he must still mainly rely upon the exertions of his Subscribers, in procuring fresh purchasers; and he assures them, in return, that he will, as far as possible, effect a corresponding improvement in every department of the work.
