day, when all that are in the graves shall hear the voice of the Son of man, and shall come forth; and He shall say unto you who have departed this life in His faith and fear, "Come, ye blessed children of my Father, receive the kingdom prepared for you from the beginning of the world." For all these are among the covenanted blessings which Christ Himself has promised to those who read, and hear, and keep the things, which are written in the book of life.

REVELATION ii. 5.

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

IN pursuance of the intention expressed in the last lecture, we are now to commence our observations upon the first of the seven epistles to the churches of Proconsular Asia. May that blessed Spirit, who in these portions of Holy writ once spake unto the churches, be, upon each occasion of our considering them, poured out
