THE few additions by Mr. Williams, which were omitted in

their proper places in this volume are as follows, viz.

(a) Should be read after the words" by the mouth of the recorder.” Page 16, line 22.

(a) [If any custom has been already certified by the recorder, the judges will take notice thereof in future, and therefore they will not fuffer it to be certified over again. Blaquiere and others, affignees of Sampfon and another, against Hawkins, affignee of Wooldridge, a bankrupt. Douglas 363.]

(c) After the words, "and by feveral fubfequent ftatutes." Page 110, line 15. (c) [However, in the year 1782, by ftatute 22 Geo. 111. c. 46. his majefty was im powered to conclude a peace with the colonies of Newhampshire, Massachusetts Bay, Rhodeifland, Connecticut, Newyork, Newjerfey, Pennfylvania, the Three Lower Counties on Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Northcarolina, Southcarolina, and Georgia in Northamerica, then in rebellion against their mother country; and for that purpose, to repeal or to fufpend, the operation of any acts of parliament fo far as they related to the said colonies. Accordingly a peace was foon after con cluded, and the independence which the abovementioned colonies had before de clared was allowed to them; fo that now they are as much independent of, and unconnected with, Greatbritain, as any other foreign nation.]

III. c. 100. no perfon fhall be admitted to vote at any election of members for any city or borough within England and Wales as an inhab itant paying scot and lot, or as an inhabitant householder, housekeeper, and potwaller, legally fettled, or as an inhabitant householder, housekeeper and potwaller, or as an inhabitant householder refiant, or as an inhabitant of such city or borough (oth er than fuch as claim by defcent, devife, marriage, or marriage fettlement, or promo. tion to any office or benefice, or under any other defcription than inhabitants paying fcot and lot, or inhabitants in the manner above described), unless he fhall have been actually and bona fide an inhabitant as above, fix calendar months previous to the day of the election at which he shall tender his vote : And if any perfon fhall vote at any fuch election contrary to the said act, his vote fhall be null and void, and he fhall forfeit 20%. to any person who fhall fue for the fame, to be recovered by action of debt in any of the courts at Westminster; in which action the proof of inhabitancy fhall lie upon the perfon fued.]

(e) [The ftatute 24 Geo. III. c. 26. repeals fo much of 10 Geo. III. c. 41. and 15 Geo. III. c. 36. as authorifes the speaker of the houfe of commons to issue his war rant to the clerk of the crown for making out writs for the election of members: and, instead thereof, fubftitutes (among others) the following provifions: That the fpeaker, during any recefs, whether by prorogation or adjournment, fhall iffue his warrant for making out writs for electing members in the room of those who shall die or become peers of Greatbritain: And, that, to prevent the inconveniences that may arife from the death of the speaker, or by his feat becoming vacant, or by his abfence out of the realm, the speaker is to nominate a certain number of members to execute the powers given to him by that a&t.]

(g) [By the ftatute 26 Geo. 3. c. 87. commiffioners are appointed for examining and inquiring into the state, produce, and expenditure of the rents of the lands, and fines for leafes of the fame, and into the ftate, produce, management, extent and value of all the honors, caftles, lordships, forefts, chafes, demefne and other lands, derelict and wafte lands within the furvey of his majefty's exchequer, and appertaining to the crown of Greatbritain in England and Wales, and into all fuch fubfifting leafes, patents and other grants of the faid honors and premises respectively, as contain any exprefs faving to the crown of any rights or interefts in poffeffion, reverfion, or contingency, and into all and all manner of rights and privileges claimed or exercised within, over and upon his majefty's faid forefts, chafes, parks, derelict and wafte lands refpeftively; and into all the fubfifting offices eftablished for the management of the faid forefts and other premises refpe&ively, and the annual expense of the fame: And the faid commiffioners are, within fourteen days after the commencement of every feffion of parliament, and from time to time, when, and fo often as they conveniently can or may, certify and report in writing, under their hands and feals, unto the king and both houfes of parliament, what progrefs they fhall have made in the execution of the trufts and powers of the faid aft, together with fuch obfervations as fhall occur to them, and fuggeft fuch plans for the difpofal and alienation, or for the future management and improvement of the faid landed eftates and poffeffions, and for the protection and fupply of timber for the ufe of the royal navy, or for redreffing any abuses in the management of the landed eftates, and the collection of the revenues of the fame, as the faid commiffioners fhall think beft calculated for rendering the faid eftates and poffeffions of the crown, and the revenues arifing therefrom, moft productive and advantageous to his majefty and the publick.]
