Sivu 36 - And, be it further enacted, That the following propositions be, and the same are hereby offered to the convention of the said territory of Illinois, when formed, for their free acceptance or rejection, which, if accepted by the convention, shall be obligatory upon the United States and the said state: First.
Sivu 36 - That sections numbered sixteen and thirty-six in every township of public lands in said State, and where either of said sections, or any part thereof, has been sold or otherwise disposed of, other lands, equivalent thereto, and as contiguous as may be, shall be granted to said State for the use of schools.
Sivu 36 - ... to be disbursed, under the direction of Congress, in making roads leading to the state; the residue to be appropriated, by the legislature of the state, for the encouragement of learning, of which one-sixth part shall be exclusively bestowed on a college or university.
Sivu 102 - All moneys raised by taxation for school purposes or received from the State common school fund, or from any other source for school purposes, shall be held by the city treasurer as a special fund for school purposes, subject to the order of the board of education, upon warrants to be countersigned by the mayor and city comptroller, or, if there be no city comptroller, by the city clerk.
Sivu 47 - No teacher or other school employe who has been or who shall have been elected by said board of education shall be removed or discharged except for cause upon written charges. which shall be investigated and determined by the said board of education whose action and decision in the matter shall be final.
Sivu 102 - ... the city, in trust for the use of schools, and no sale of real estate or interest therein used for school purposes or held in trust for schools shall be made, except by the city council upon the written request of the board of education.

Sivu 102 - State; the interest on the school fund proper, which fund is 3 per cent upon the proceeds of the sales of public lands in the State, one-sixth part excepted; and the interest on the surplus revenue distributed by Act of Congress and made part of the common school fund by Act of the Legislature, March 4, 1837. The interest on the school fund proper and the surplus revenue shall be paid by the State annually at the rate of 6 per cent, and shall be distributed as provided by law.
Sivu 10 - In the third act of the ordinance of 1787, is the sentiment, " religion, morality and knowledge being necessary to good government, schools and the means of education, shall forever be encouraged.
Sivu 42 - The general assembly shall provide a thorough and efficient system of free schools, whereby all children of this state may receive a good common school education.
