The Committee on Canons made the following

REPORT.

The Committee on Canons beg leave to give notice, and at the same time report, the following resolution for consideration to-morrow:

Resolved, That Canon XI be amended by adding the following, to wit:

"Provided, however, that any alteration of, or addition to, the Canons of the Diocese, proposed at any time by the Committee on Canons, may, by unanimous consent, be adopted by the Convention without the giving of one day's previous notice; otherwise, the same shall lay over, as aforesaid.

The election of members of the Standing Committee resulted in the choice of

The Committee on Credentials verbally reported the Hon. Ballard Smith as Lay Delegate from St. Luke's Church, Cannelton, and L. Horgas from St. John's, Crawfordsville. On motion, the Convention took a recess until three o'clock P. M.

THURSDAY, 3 o'clock P. M.

The Convention met pursuant to adjournment, the Bishop in the Chair.

The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.

A motion to reconsider the reference of the proposed amendment of Canon X, to the Committee on Canons, was lost.

By unanimous consent, balloting was dispensed with; and, on motion, Isaac L. Beach was elected.

The election for Supplemental Deputies to the General Convention resulted in the choice of

Balloting was then dispensed with, and the following were chosen Lay Deputies, viz :

On motion of the Rev. Mr. Stewart, it was

Resolved, That each Parish of the Diocese be assessed one dollar for each communicant in the Parish and that each Parish be held accountable for the full payment of the assessment so made.

On motion, balloting was dispensed with, and the Board of Trustees of the Diocese, of last year, were re-elected. On motion, the resolution and amendment relative to the place of meeting for the next annual Convention, was taken from the table, and the amendment was withdrawn.

On motion, the original resolution was carried.

On motion, the amendment of Article 2 of the Constitution was called up for re-consideration; and, on motion, was indefinitely postponed.

On motion, the Convention adjourned to meet to morrow morning at 9 o'clock.

EVENING.

Evening Prayer was read by the Rev. Messrs. High and Tschiffelly; and a Sermon was preached by the Rev. Elias Birdsall, from I St. John, v. 10. And a Missionary Address was made by the Bishop.

THIRD DAY.

FRIDAY, 9 o'clock A. M.

Morning Prayer was said, fromthe beginning, by the Rev. Mr. Hollis, and from the Creed, by the Rev. Mr. Charlot. The Bishop took the Chair and called the house to order. The Treasurer presented his report, which was read and referred to the Committee on Accounts.

Mr. Payne offered the following:

Resolved, That the Treasurer of the Diocese is hereby authorized and requested to apply any money that may be in his hands belonging to the Permanent Episcopal Fund, to the payment of taxes on real estate held by the Trustees of the Diocese, if he should think it proper to do so.

This resolution was adopted.

The amendment to Canon XI, proposed by the Committee on Canons during the session of yesterday, was then taken up and adopted.

The Committee on Canons then presented the following

REPORT.

The Committee on Canons, to whom was referred the proposed amendments to Canon X, have considered the same, and respectfully report the amendments to the Convention, without any recommendation on the subject, except that the same be adopted; the title of the amended Canon to be "OF THE MISSIONARY FUND."

The Rev. Mr. Russ moved that the proposed amendment be adopted.

The Rev. Mr. Wakefield moved, as an amendment, that Canon X be repealed. The Convention adopted the amend

ment.

On motion of the Rev. Mr. Russ,

Resolved, That the Missionary funds now in the hands of the Treasurer of the Diocese, and such other sums as may hereafter come into his hands in aid of the Mission Fund of the Diocese, be paid to the Missionaries, on the order of the Bishop, from time to time.

On motion, 300 copies of the Journal, and 500 copies of the Bishop's Charge were ordered to be printed.

On motion of the Rev. Mr. Russ,

Resolved, That in every Parish, there shall be a collection in aid of the Missionary Fund on the second Sunday in the months of January, April, July, and October, unless that be a day on which the Holy Communion is to be administered, in which case the collection may be the Sunday after. It shall be the duty of every Clergyman to give due notice of these collections, and to call the attention of the congregation to their importance and claims.

It shall be the duty of the Wardens of every Parish to forward the proceeds of such collections, without delay, to the Treasurer of the Convention, who shall hold all moneys thus received by him subject to appropriation by the Bishop, and shall pay them upon his order.

The Rev. Mr. Stewart presented the following on behalf of the Committee:

The Committee on Accounts respectfully report that they have examined the accounts of the Treasurer of the Diocese, and on comparing them with the accompanying vouchers, find them to be correct.

Resolved, That the thanks of this Convention be gratefully returned to the Rector and l'arishioners of Christ Church, Indianapolis, for their hospitality during its session.

On motion, Mr. McChesney was excused from serving as Trustee of the Diocese, and Charles Cox was chosen in his place.

On motion,

Resolved, That after the reading of the minutes, and the usual religious exercises, the Convention adjourn sine die.

The minutes of this day's session were read and approved.

A portion of the 25th hymn was sung, prayers were of fered, the benediction was pronounced by the Bishop, and the Convention adjourned accordingly.
