MY BRETHREN, The Clergy and LAITY OF THE CONVENTION:

In conformity with the Canon, I proceed to report my official acts and proceedings during the past Conventional year. They have been less in number than in some former years, owing to circumstances which it is not necessary to detail; and the visitations I have performed, particularly within the past four months, have been performed amid no little physical suffering, the continuance of which will require a somewhat protracted absence from the diocese, in the hope of relief from certain means heretofore, through the divine blessing, found efficacious.

June 16-3d Sunday after Trinity-I preached twice and confirmed four persons (special) in Christ Church, Indianapolis.

June 23-4th Sunday after Trinity—I preached twice in St. Paul's Church, Buffalo, Western New York.

June 26th and 27th-I attended the Annual Meeting of the Trustees of the General Theological Seminary and presided; and also, took part in the services at the Annual

Commencement of that Institution in St. Peter's Church, City of New York.

June 30th-5th Sunday after Trinity, I preached in the morning in Christ Church, Tarrytown, and in the afternoon in St. Mary's Church, Beechwood, New York.

July 14th-7th Sunday after Trinity, I preached twice in St. John's Church, Thorold, Canada West.

July 21st-8th Sunday after Trinity, I preached twice in St. George's Church, St. Catherines, Canada West.

July 28th-9th Sunday after Trinity, I preached twice in St. Paul's Church, Detroit, Michigan.

August 18th-12th Sunday after Trinity, I read prayers and preached twice in Trinity Church, Fort Wayne, the Rector having gone, at my request, to officiate at Warsaw.

August 25th-13th Sunday after Trinity, I read prayers and preached twice in St. John's Church, Lafayette, the Rector being absent.

September 1st-14th Sunday after Trinity, I read prayers, preached and administered the Lord's Supper in the (vacant) Parish of Trinity Church, Lawrenceburgh.

September 22d-17th Sunday after Trinity, I read prayers and preached twice, baptized an infant, and administered the Lord's Supper in the (vacant) Parish of Trinity Church, Michigan City.

September 24th-I read prayers and preached in the Church of the Holy Communion, Valparaiso. The welfare of this new Parish has been seriousiy impaired by the removal of the late incumbent, whose place I have not been able to supply, and by the removal of other persons who took a deep interest in Church affairs.

September 26th-I read prayers and preached again in Trinity Church, Michigan City, on the occasion of the National Fast, recommended by the President of the United States.

September 29th-18th Sunday after Trinity, I preached twice baptized a child, and administered the Lord's Supper in St. Thomas' Church, Plymouth.

October 4th-19th Sunday after Trinity, I read prayers, preached and administered the Lord's Supper in my former Parish, Trinity Church, Pittsburgh, Pa.

October 10th and 11th-I attended the Annual Meeting of the Board of Missions in St. Luke's Church, Philadelphia. October 13th-20th Sunday after Trinity, I preached twice in St. Stephen's Church, Philadelphia.

October 16th-I attended a special meeting of the Trustees of the General Theological Seminary in the City of New York, and presided.

October 20th-21st Sunday after Trinity, I preached twice and administered the Lord's Supper in Grace Church, Newark, N. J.

October 23d-On invitation of the Bishop of Pennsylvania, I assisted at the opening services of the Special Convention of that Diocese, convened for the election of an Assistant Bishop in St. Andrew's Church, Philadelphia. The Rev. William Bacon Stevens, D. D., was chosen to that responsible office-a choice, I am happy to say, which met my cordial approval, from the high estimate I have always entertained of the learning, piety, talents, and practical ability of the Assistant Bishop elect. He has since been. consecrated to the office of a Bishop in the Church of God,
