The ladies of the Parish, through their untiring exertions, have built around the Church a substantial fence.

Besides the above services I have officiated at South Bend every Sunday afternoon. Services performed, 50 times; Preached, 48 times; Confirmations, 3.

There have been no collections in this Parish for the gen

eral objects of the Church. The congregation being without an edifice of their own, they are obliged to hire one at a very dear rate, and consequently the collections have up to the present been used in this way. Rector's expenses to Convention, $3 50.

I have lately taken charge of St. John's Church, Bristol, in connection with my Parishes at Mishawaka and South Bend, devoting to them one third of my time.

I took charge of St. Paul's Church, New Albany, about the middle of January, and the above report is for the period which has since elapsed.

Previous to that time, the Church was without a Rector for about six months, though the Church was kept open for the benefit of the Sunday School, and the services were read once each Sunday by a zealous Layman. Our attendance has been increasing, and the prospects for the future are quite encouraging. Perhaps no town in the State has suffered more than New Albany from our political troubles. From this and other causes, the number of our communicants has materially decreased.

Under God's blessing this Parish has prospered well during the past year. The chapel is now nearly furnished throughout, and during this month the lots will be enclosed with a neat, serviceable fence.

Mr. Henry C. Carter has presented the Parish with a valuable Communion service, and Miss L. M. Morley, of Indianapolis, kindly gave the sum of $45 00 for the purchase of a melodeon, and to this our Parishoners added $15 00. This amount is not included in the list of contributions.

The many kindnesses bestowed, and the cheering presence of our loved and revered Rt. Rev. Father, with good and noble churchmen from other parts of the Diocese, encouraging us in our work by their words of counsel and advice will, I trust, be fully felt by us all, and be a subject of devout thankfulness in all our prayers. God has, indeed, been with us, and as the church is builded and the "little flock" are gathered in, may The Shepherd guide and guard and bless us forever.
