The British Dominions Emigration Society. (Passages.)

An Agreement with the Society for assisting in the migration of families to Canada. The assistance is given by way of grant and loan towards the cost of passages and incidental expenses.

Societies dealing with Children. (After-care, &c.)

Agreements with recognised juvenile societies (e.g., Dr. Barnardo's Homes) for assisting in the outfitting, reception, settlement and aftercare of children going to Canada under the passage agreement with the Government of Canada.

Agreements with Dr. Barnardo's Homes for assisting in the cost of testing," outfits, travelling in the United Kingdom and the reception, settlement and after-care of children going to Australia.

The Child Emigration Society. (After-care.)

An Agreement with the Society for assisting in the extension of the Fairbridge Farm School in Western Australia, to provide accommodation for an additional 100 children (300 in all), and in the maintenance of children at the Farm School. The assistance takes the form of a grant towards the cost of the extension and a grant, upon an agreed scale, towards the cost of maintenance of the children over a period of five years.

The Craigielinn Boys' Training Farm. (Testing.)

An agreement with the farm for "testing" 100 boys per annum at the Institution in Scotland with a view to their migration as farm workers to Canada and Australia. The financial assistance is given in the form of a grant upon an agreed scale, with a grant of £750 towards the capital cost of extending the farm.

Church Army. (Testing.)

An agreement for "testing" 100 boys at the Church Army Farm at Hempstead with a view to settlement as farm workers in the Dominions. The financial assistance is given in the form of a grant upon an agreed scale.

Church of Scotland. (Testing.)

An agreement for testing approximately 100 men per annum with a view to their settlement as farm workers in the Dominions. The financial assistance is given in the form of a grant upon an agreed scale.

Mr. Fegan's Homes. (Testing.)

An agreement for "testing approximately 100 boys per annum at the Society's Training Farm at Goudhurst, Kent, with a view to their settlement as farm workers in Canada. The financial assistance is given in the form of a grant upon an agreed scale.

Fellowship of the British Empire Exhibition. (Training.)

(a) A scheme for providing scholarships for 100 boys to be trained at an Agricultural College or Farm School in New South Wales and at the conclusion of training to be found agricultural work. The cost up to an amount not exceeding £53 for education and maintenance, passages (i.e., the balance after deducting Government contributions), medical fees, &c., will be shared equally between His Majesty's Government and the Fellow

(b) A scheme for providing Scholarships for twenty boys to be trained at the Dookie Agricultural College, Victoria, and at the conclusion of the training to be found agricultural work. The cost up to an amount not exceeding £93 10s. for education, maintenance and passages (i.e., the balance after deducting Government contributions), medical fees, &c., will be shared equally between His Majesty's Government and the Fellowship.

(c) A scheme for providing Scholarships for ten boys at the Kemptville Agricultural College, Ontario, and at the conclusion of the training to be found agricultural work. The cost up to an amount not exceeding £75 for education, maintenance and passage (i.e., the balance after deducting Government contributions), medical fees, &c., will be shared equally between His Majesty's Government and the Fellowship.

(d) A scheme arranged with the Fellowship of the British Empire Exhibition and the Fellowship of the Maple Leaf for the migration to and training in Canada of twenty-four women from Great Britain to act as teachers in Western Canada.

(e) A scheme for providing Scholarships for twelve boys at the Ruakura Farm Training College in New Zealand. The cost, up to an amount not exceeding £45 for education, maintenance, miscellaneous expenses, &c., in New Zealand, will be shared equally between His Majesty's Government and the Fellowship.

(f) A scheme for the migration to, and the training in, the Union of South Africa of not more than six women, with a view to their taking up appointments as teachers in the Union. The cost, up to an amount of £100 for training and maintenance in South Africa, and for passages, will be shared equally between His Majesty's Government and the Fellowship.

(g) A scheme for providing scholarships for 12 youths at the Guelph Agricultural College, Ontario, at a cost not exceeding £120, to be shared between His Majesty's Government and the Fellowship.

1820 Memorial Settlers' Association. (Settlement.)

(a) An Agreement with the Association for making advances to settlers through the Standard Bank of South Africa to enable them to purchase stock and equipment and, if necessary, to pay an instalment on the cost of their farm.

(b) An Agreement with the Association for the establishment of three training farms in South Africa. His Majesty's Government have undertaken to pay one-half the cost of the furniture, stock and equipment of the farms, up to an amount not exceeding £9,000 in all.

Trustees of the Dreadnought Fund.

An agreement for providing for the migration to Australia during a period of three years of approximately 1,000 boys per annum and for their training in that Dominion for rural employment under the Dreadnought Scheme. The contribution of His Majesty's Government takes the form of a payment of a proportion of the total expenditure incurred by the Trustees in connection with boys who went out under the Dreadnought Scheme during 1926, 1927 and 1928, such proportion being based on the numbers migrated. The rate of contribution per boy is not to exceed on the average £6 or £3, according to the numbers who went out.

Newcastle-on-Tyne Migration Committee. (Testing.)

A scheme for "testing" 200 boys per annum with a view to their settlement as farm workers in the Dominions. The financial assistance is given in the form of a grant upon an agreed scale.

Hudson's Bay Company (Overseas Settlement) Ltd. Training Scheme.

A scheme for training approximately 250 men per annum between the ages of 16 and 35 inclusive at the Company's Farm in Bedfordshire (Brogborough Park Farm) with a view to their going as farm workers to Canada. The financial assistance is given in the form of a grant upon an agreed scale.

British Immigration and Colonisation Association of Canada.

A scheme for operating a farm as headquarters for the reception, settle, ment and after-care of boys under 18 years of age. The Secretary of State's contribution takes the form of a grant of 20 dollars for each boy subject to a maximum of 10,000 dollars per annum for a period of five years and a contribution of one-half these amounts by the Dominion Government.
