Analyzes the text of the "Dialogo", an anti-Jewish polemical work composed in 7th-century Egypt by an unknown author (pp. 181-226 contain the Greek text and an Italian translation). It was written in the form of a fictitious dialogue between two Jewish sages and a Christian monk. It focuses on the idea that the messianic prophecies contained in the Bible were realized by the coming of Jesus and accuses the Jews of deicide, using traditional arguments and stereotypes. The work was copied and translated many times during the 11th-18th centuries, in the geographic area ranging from the eastern Mediterranean to Italy in the west, and went through some changes over the years. The version presented here is based mainly on the edition by Arthur McGiffert, "Dialogue between a Christian and a Jew, Entitled 'Antibolē Papikou kai Pilōnos Ioudiaōn pros monachon tina'" (1899).
