through the grave and gate of death, we may pass to our joyful resurrection, for His merits, who died, and was buried, and rose again for us.

Grant, we beseech thee, that the words which we have heard this day with our outward ears, may, through thy grace, be so grafted inwardly in our hearts, that they may bring forth in us the fruit of good living, to the honour and praise of thy holy name. O graft in our hearts the love of thy name; increase in us true religion; nourish us with all goodness, and of thy great mercy keep us in the same. Grant that, by the inspiration of thy Holy Spirit, we may have a right judgment in all things, and evermore rejoice in His holy comfort. us to love the thing which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed, where true joys are to be found.

Blessed be thy name, O Lord God, for that it pleaseth thee to have thy habitation among the sons of men, and to dwell in the midst of the assembly of the saints upon earth. Inspire continually, we beseech thee, the universal Church with the spirit of truth, unity, and concord: and grant that all they that do confess thy holy name may agree in the truth of thy holy word, and live in unity and

godly love. O heavenly Father, who, of thine infinite love and goodness towards us, hast given to us thy only and most dearly beloved Son Jesus Christ, to be our Redeemer, and the author of everlasting life; who, after He had made perfect our redemption by his death, and was ascended into heaven, sent abroad into the world His Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, and Pastors, by whose labour and ministry He gathered together a great flock in all the parts of the world to set forth the praise of thy holy name : for these, so great benefits of thy eternal goodness, and for that thou hast vouchsafed to call thy servants, our Bishops and Pastors, to the same office and ministry appointed for the salvation of mankind, we render unto thee most hearty thanks, we praise and worship thee; and we humbly beseech thee, by the same thy blessed Son, to grant that we, with all who call upon thy holy name, may continue to show ourselves thankful unto thee for these and all other thy benefits; and that we may daily increase and go forward in the knowledge and faith of thee and thy Son, by thy Holy Spirit: so that thy holy name may be for ever glorified, and thy blessed kingdom enlarged.

Save and defend all Christian Kings, Princes, and Governors; and especially thy servant William our King, that under him we may be godly and quietly

governed; and grant unto his whole council, and to all that are put in authority under him, that they may truly and indifferently minister justice, to the punishment of wickedness and vice, and to the maintenance of thy true religion and virtue.

We most humbly beseech thee of thy goodness, O Lord, to comfort and succour all them who, in this transitory life, are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity. And we also bless thy holy name for all thy servants departed this life in thy faith and fear; beseeching thee to give us grace so to follow their good examples, that with them we may be partakers of thy heavenly kingdom.

And now, O God, unto thy most gracious mercy and protection we commit ourselves, our relations, ⚫ friends, and all for whom we should pray, this night. Lord, bless us, and keep us. Make thy face to shine upon us. Lift up thy countenance upon us, and give us peace, both now and evermore, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

MONDAY MORNING.

Let us Pray.

ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father, prevent us, we beseech thee, in all our doings with thy most gracious favour, and further us with thy continual help, that in all our works, begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy name, and finally, by thy mercy obtain everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Remember not, Lord, our offences, nor the offences of our forefathers; neither take thou vengeance of our sins spare us, good Lord, spare thy people, whom thou hast redeemed with thy most precious blood, and be not angry with us for ever. May it please thee to give us true repentance; to forgive us all our sins, negligences, and ignorances; and to endue us with the grace of thy Holy Spirit, to amend our lives according to thy holy word. And grant that neither the splendour of anything that is great, nor the conceit of anything that is good in us, may withdraw our eyes from looking upon ourselves as sinful dust and ashes: but that we may press forward to the prize of the high calling that is before us, in faith and patience, humility and meekness,

mortification and self-denial, charity and constant perseverance unto the end. Increase and multiply upon us thy mercy; that, thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal.

O Lord, who knowest us to be set in the midst of so many and great dangers, that, by reason of the frailty of our nature, we cannot always stand upright; grant to us, we beseech thee, such strength and protection as may support us in all dangers, and carry us through all temptations. Grant us grace to withstand the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil, and with pure hearts and minds to follow thee the only God; and as thou hast prepared for them that love thee such good things as pass man's understanding, pour into our hearts such love toward thee, that we, loving thee above all things, may obtain thy promises, which exceed all that we can desire.

Bless with thy saving health all our relations, friends, and neighbours: and, O God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified, receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before thee for all estates of men in thy holy Church; that every member of the same, in his vocation and ministry, may truly and godly serve thee and grant, we beseech thee, that the
