course of this world may be so peaceably ordered by thy governance, that thy Church may joyfully serve thee in all godly quietness.

We yield thee humble thanks, O heavenly Father, for all thy mercies; and especially that thou hast vouchsafed to call us to the knowledge of thy grace and faith in thee: increase this knowledge, and confirm this faith in us evermore. Give to us thy Holy Spirit, that we, being born again, and made heirs of everlasting salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, may continue thy servants, and attain thy promises, through the same Lord Jesus Christ thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Holy Spirit everlastingly.

MONDAY EVENING.

Let us Pray.

LET thy merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of thy humble servants; and, that we may obtain our petitions, make us to ask such things as shall please thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Have mercy upon us, O God, after thy great goodness; according to the multitude of thy mercies do away our offences: for we acknowledge our faults; against thee have we sinned, and done evil in thy sight. Turn away thy face from our sins, and put out all our misdeeds. Spare all those who confess their sins unto thee; and grant that they whose consciences by sin are accused, by thy merciful pardon may be absolved. Make us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Help us, O God our Saviour, and for the glory of thy name deliver us; be merciful to us sinners, for thy name's sake.

Grant, we beseech thee, that our hearts, and all our members, being mortified from all worldly and carnal lusts, we may in all things obey thy blessed will. O God, whose blessed Son was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil, and

make us the sons of God, and heirs of eternal life, grant us, we beseech thee, that, having this hope, we may purify ourselves even as He is pure; that when He shall appear again with power and great glory, we may be made like unto Him in His eternal and glorious kingdom. And give us, we pray thee, while here on earth, that peace which the world cannot give; that both our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and also, that by thee we being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our time in rest and quietness.

Bless, we pray thee, all our relations and friends: may they be endued with all heavenly virtues, and everlastingly rewarded through thy mercy. Forgive our enemies, and turn their hearts. Look down from heaven upon all who are in any trouble or affliction visit them with thy salvation; deliver them in thy good appointed time, and save their souls for thy mercies' sake.

Have mercy, O Lord, upon the whole Church. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly union and concord; that we may be all of one heart and one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity; and that we may with one mind and one mouth glorify thee. Bless thy servant, our Sovereign Lord the King: let thy wisdom be his guide,

and let thine arm strengthen him: let justice, truth, and holiness, let peace and love, and all those virtues. that adorn the Christian profession, flourish in his days: direct all his counsels and endeavours to thy glory and the welfare of his people; and give us all grace to obey him cheerfully and willingly for conscience' sake. Let thy way be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

We bless and magnify thy holy name, most merciful Father, for all thy goodness; more especially for the exceeding great love of our Master and only Saviour Jesus Christ, and the innumerable benefits which by His precious bloodshedding He hath obtained to us. Give us such a sense of this great mercy as may engage us to a true thankfulness; such as may appear in our lives by an humble, holy, and obedient walking before thee all our days.

And now we humbly beseech thee, look upon hearty desires of thy humble servants; and stretch forth the right hand of thy Majesty to be our defence this night and ever against all our enemies, through Jesus Christ our Lord: to whom, with thee, and the Holy Spirit, as for all thy mercies, so in particular for those of the day past, be all glory and honour, world without end,

TUESDAY MORNING.

Let us Pray.

O GOD, our refuge and strength, who art the Author of all godliness, be ready, we beseech thee, to hear our prayers; and grant that those things which we ask faithfully, we may obtain effectually, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

O Lord, deal not with us after our sins, neither reward us after our iniquities; but grant that we, who for our evil deeds do worthily deserve to be punished, by the comfort of thy grace may mercifully be relieved. Thou hatest nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all them that are penitent; create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins, and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

O thou who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men, vouchsafe, we beseech thee, to keep us this day without sin; and mercifully grant unto us such a measure of thy grace, that we, running the way of thy commandments, may obtain thy gracious promises, and be made par
