takers of thy heavenly treasure. From envy, hatred, and malice, and all uncharitableness; and from all the deceits of the world, the flesh, and the devil, good Lord deliver us: and may it please thee to give us a heart to love and dread thee, and diligently to live after thy commandments. Give us a right understanding of ourselves, and of thy threats and promises, that we may neither cast away our confidence in thee, nor place it anywhere but in thee. And teach us by the daily instances of mortality to see how frail and uncertain our own condition is; and so to number our days, that we may seriously apply our hearts to that holy and heavenly wisdom, while we live here, which may in the end bring us to life everlasting.

Bless all our relations and friends; preserve them in thy faith, fear, and love; prosper them with long happiness here on earth, and crown them with everlasting glory hereafter. Look down from heaven upon all that are in affliction; behold, visit, and relieve them. Keep, we beseech thee, O Lord, thy Church with thy perpetual mercy; and bring into the way of truth all such as have erred and are deceived. Keep and strengthen in the true worshipping of thee, in righteousness and holiness of life, thy servant William, our most gracious King and Governor. Preserve and bless all the Royal Family.

Illuminate all Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, with true knowledge and understanding of thy word; and may they, both by their preaching and living, set it forth and show it accordingly.

O most gracious God, whose mercy is over all thy works, we bless and glorify thy name, for that thou hast given thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ to die for us; whereby alone we obtain remission of our sins, and are made partakers of the kingdom of heaven. We bless thee, also, for thy mercy in preserving us during the night past, and in bringing us safe to this day. Make us truly sensible of thy mercies; and give us hearts always ready to express our thankfulness, not only by words, but also by our lives, in being more obedient to thy holy commandments. Continue, we beseech thee, this thy goodness to us; that we may serve thee in holiness and righteousness all the days of our life, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour; to whom, with thee, and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, now and for ever.

TUESDAY EVENING.

Let us Pray.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who art always more ready to hear than we to pray, and art wont to give more than either we desire or deserve, pour down upon us the abundance of thy mercy; forgiving us those things whereof our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask, but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord.

We humbly acknowledge before thee, O most merciful Father, that all the punishments which are threatened in thy law might justly have fallen upon us, by reason of our manifold transgressions and hardness of heart. But, O Lord, deal not with us after our sins, neither reward us after our iniquities. Turn thou us, O good Lord; and so shall we be turned: be favourable to us, O Lord, be favourable to us, for thou art a merciful God, full of compassion, long-suffering, and of great pity. O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us, and grant us thy peace.

Grant that all carnal affections may die in us, and that all things belonging to the Spirit may live and grow in us. Grant that we may have power and

strength to have victory, and to triumph against the devil, the world, and the flesh. Grant that we may also be endued with heavenly virtues; that, being dead unto sin, and living unto righteousness, and being buried with Christ in His death, we may crucify the old man, and utterly abolish the whole body of sin; and that as we are made partakers of the death of thy Son, we may also be partakers of His resurrection; so that, finally, with the residue of thy holy Church, we may be inheritors of thine everlasting kingdom.

We make our humble supplications unto thee also, for all our relations and friends: let thy fatherly hand, we beseech thee, ever be over them; let thy Holy Spirit ever be with them; and so lead them in the knowledge and obedience of thy word, that in the end they may obtain everlasting life.

O Lord, we beseech thee to keep thy Church and Household continually in thy true religion; that they who do lean only on the hope of thy heavenly grace, may evermore be defended by thy mighty power. We beseech thee, also, with thy favour to behold our most gracious Sovereign Lord the King; and so replenish him with the grace of thy Holy Spirit, that he may alway incline to thy will, and walk in thy way. Bless all the Royal Family. Send down upon our Bishops and Curates, and all congregations committed to their charge, the health

ful Spirit of thy grace: and, that they may truly please thee, pour upon them the continual dew of thy blessing. May it please thee to bless and keep all thy people; and to succour, help, and comfort all sick persons, and all that are in danger, necessity, and tribulation.

Day by day we magnify thee, O heavenly Father, for thy preservation of us, and for thy great goodness; and we worship thy name, who, of thy tender mercy, didst give thine only Son Jesus Christ to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption; who made there, by His one oblation of Himself, once offered, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction for the sins of the whole world. May we, now and ever, in remembrance of that His precious death, offer and present unto thee, O Lord, ourselves, our souls and bodies, to be a reasonable, holy, and lively sacrifice unto thee.

And we beseech thee, most merciful God, of thy bountiful goodness to keep us, and all belonging to us, this night and ever from all things that may hurt us; and that we, being ready both in body and soul, may cheerfully accomplish those things that thou wouldest have done, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
