SUNDAY MORNING.

Let us Pray.

ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works do proceed, assist us mercifully in these our supplications and prayers, and dispose the way of thy servants toward the attainment of everlasting salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

To thee, O Lord our God, belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against thee, neither have we obeyed thy voice to walk in thy laws which thou hast set before us. Have mercy upon us miserable sinners: hide thy face from our sins, and blot out all our iniquities, for the sake of Jesus Christ thy Son, our Mediator and Advocate.

And forasmuch as without thee we are not able to please thee, mercifully grant that thy Holy Spirit may in all things rule and direct our hearts. Raise up, we pray thee, thy power, and come among us, and with great might succour us; that whereas through our sins and wickedness we are sore let and hindered in running the race that is set before us, thy bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us. Grant us so perfectly and

without all doubt to believe in thy Son Jesus Christ,

that our faith, in thy sight, may never be reproved. Grant us the help of thy grace, that in keeping thy commandments we may please thee both in will and deed; and, being ready both in body and soul, may cheerfully accomplish those things that thou wouldest have done. From all blindness of heart, from pride, vain glory and hypocrisy, good Lord deliver us. Grant us, we beseech thee, pardon and peace, that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve thee with a quiet mind.

We praise thee, O God, for all thy goodness and loving kindness; but especially are we bound to praise thee for the glorious resurrection of thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, whom, of thy tender mercy, thou didst give to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption; we praise thee for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.

Grant, we beseech thee, blessed Lord, that when we, and whosoever shall draw near unto thee this day in thy house, to give thee thanks for the benefits which we have received at thy hands, to set forth thy most worthy praise, to confess our sins unto thee, and to ask such things as are requisite and necessary as well for the body as the soul, we may do it with such steadfastness of faith, and with such seriousness, affection, and devotion of mind, that thou mayest accept our bounden duty and ser

vice, and vouchsafe to give whatever in thine infinite wisdom thou shalt see to be most expedient for us. Give us grace to prepare our hearts to serve thee with reverence and godly fear: affect us with an awful apprehension of thy divine Majesty, and a deep sense of our own unworthiness; that so, approaching thy sanctuary with lowliness and devotion, and coming before thee with clean thoughts, and pure hearts, and minds sanctified, we may perform a service acceptable to thee through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Give grace, O heavenly Father, to all Bishops and Curates, that they may, both by their life and doctrine, set forth thy true and lively word, and rightly and duly administer thy holy sacraments: and to all thy people give thy heavenly grace, and especially to us here present, that with meek heart and due reverence we may hear and receive thy holy word, truly serving thee in holiness and righteousness all the days of our life.

These, and all other necessaries for us, our relations and friends, for thy whole Church, and all for whom we ought more especially to pray, we humbly beg in the name and mediation of Jesus Christ, our most blessed Lord and Saviour.

SUNDAY EVENING.

Let us Pray.

O GOD, whose nature and property is always to have mercy and to forgive, receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound with the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of thy great mercy loose us, for the honour of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Advocate.

Enter not into judgment with thy servants, O Lord, for in thy sight shall no flesh living be justified. We acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness, which we from time to time, and particularly during this day, most grievously have committed, by thought, word, and deed, against thy divine Majesty, provoking most justly thy wrath and indignation against us. Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father; for thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ's sake forgive us all that is past; and grant that we may ever hereafter serve and please thee in newness of life, to the honour and glory of thy holy name. And grant, O Lord, that as we are baptized into the death of thy blessed Son our Saviour Jesus Christ, so, by continual mortifying our corrupt affections, we may be buried with Him; and that,
