TUESDAY EVENING.

Let us Pray.

O HEAVENLY FATHER, hear our prayers, we humbly beseech thee, and let our evening sacrifice be acceptable in thy sight, through the mediation of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Have mercy upon us, O God, after thy great goodness, and according to the multitude of thy mercies do away our offences; let thy unspeakable mercy in Jesus Christ thy Son free us from all the sins we have committed, and deliver us from the punishment we have deserved. Graciously look upon our infirmities, and cleanse us from all filthiness of flesh and spirit; save us from every work of darkness, and give us grace with pure hearts and minds to follow thee, the only true God.

Make us to remember thee on our bed, to think upon thee when we are waking, to commune with our own heart, and search out our spirits; and to compose them in thee, that we may rise to thy serThou hast pre

And, O thou Creator and Preserver of all mankind, have mercy upon all sorts and conditions of men; bless thy holy Catholic Church, wheresoever dispersed upon the face of the whole earth: may one faith, one Lord, one baptism, be in all places uniformly professed. And keep us, O Lord, faithful, living members, under Christ, the head of thy true Church, his body, all the days of our life, and at the hour of our death.

Bless and preserve our Sovereign; make him and keep him a devoted servant to thee, and a true defender of the faith; bless him in himself and in his people; grant him long life and peace on earth, and crown him with eternal glory in the life to

come.

Bless all that labour under afflictions; give them constant patience, or speedy deliverance, as seems best to thee, according to their several wants and necessities. Bless all our kindred and acquaintance, our friends and benefactors; turn the hearts of our

enemies; forgive us and them all our sins, and grant us mercy in the dreadful day of judgment, through the mediation and satisfaction of thy blessed Son Jesus Christ, to whom, with thee, and the Holy Ghost the Comforter, be all honour, praise, and thanksgiving, now and for ever.

WEDNESDAY MORNING.

Let us Pray.

O ALMIGHTY and eternal God, we humbly adore thy sovereign Majesty; and acknowledge that all we are, and all we have, are the effects of thine unspeakable bounty. Give us, we pray thee, such a sense of thine infinite goodness, that we may return unto thee all love and obedience.

We humbly thank thee for all the favours which thou hast bestowed upon us; for creating us after thine own image, for preserving us by the daily protection of thy good providence, for redeeming us by the death of thy blessed Son, and for the sanctifying influences of thy Holy Spirit, for placing us in a state of salvation, and for the hope of happiness hereafter. We thank thee, also, for the many temporal blessings which thou hast bestowed upon us, for rest and protection during the past night, and for the comforts and conveniences, as well as the necessaries of life. May we alway delight to praise thy holy name, and love thee above all thy benefits.

O Father of mercies, have compassion upon us miserable sinners: for the sake of thy beloved Son, and through His atoning blood, we most humbly

implore the pardon of all our sins. Make us heartily sorry that we have offended thee; and grant us the assistance of thy grace, that we may henceforth avoid all occasions of evil, and walk before thee with a perfect heart, to thy glory, and the salvation of our souls. Enlighten our minds with a true knowledge of our duty, and enable us, by thy Holy Spirit, to perform it with care and diligence. Make us ever watchful and constant in prayer; alway sensible of our corruption, and need of thy help: and defend us, by thy Almighty power, from all the snares and temptations that may beset us.

Preserve us, O good Lord, from all those bodily dangers to which we are liable: and keep us this day in innocence, and in love to thee and to all men. Direct our paths, and teach us to guide all our affairs with discretion: make us upright and honest in all our dealings, and diligent in our several callings: but let not the things of this life rob us of that time which ought to be employed in the concerns of our souls, nor divert us from the serious thoughts of the world to come: that walking faithfully before thee all our days, and being found watching when our appointed time shall come, we may, from a life of righteousness, be translated to a life of glory, through the merits of Jesus Christ our Lord.
