and practice of thy laws. Bless all our governors, in Church and State. Send down thy blessings, temporal and spiritual, upon all our friends, relations, and neighbours. Comfort and relieve all those who are in any affliction or distress: and bring all men to thyself, in the faith of thy blessed Son.

And as we pray unto thee, O God, for ourselves and others, so we desire to bless and praise thy holy name, for all thy manifold mercies and favours to us and to all mankind. We give thee hearty thanks, for preserving us during the day past, and all our lives; but above all, for thine unspeakable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. O Lord, imprint on our hearts such a deep sense of thy mercies, that we may glorify thy name, in holiness and righteousness, all the days of our life.

Finally, O Lord, we humbly commend ourselves, our souls and bodies, and all that belong to us, to thy fatherly care and good providence; beseeching thee to take us, this night, under thy Almighty protection, that no evil may come near to hurt us. Refresh our bodies with quiet rest and sleep, and our souls with the consolations of thy Holy Spirit; and when thou shalt think fit to take us out of this

world, give us everlasting rest and peace, in thy eternal kingdom, through the merits and for the sake of thy Son, our blessed Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus Christ our Lord.

SATURDAY MORNING.

Let us Pray.

O ALMIGHTY God, Lord of heaven and earth, we, thine unworthy creatures, bow down before the throne of thy Majesty; humbly confessing our manifold sins and wickednesses, by which we have deserved thy just anger and displeasure.

We confess, O God, that we have sinned grievously against thee, by thought, word, and deed; we have broken thy righteous laws, and incurred thy severest judgments. But, O Lord our Judge, thou art also our Redeemer: we have sinned, but thou, O blessed Jesus, art our Advocate: have mercy upon us, miserable sinners; enter not into judgment with us, but spare us, gracious Lord, spare thy servants, whom thou hast redeemed with thy most precious blood: preserve us from the punishment of sin, and deliver us from its power.

O thou, whose mercy is without measure, grant us the forgiveness of what is past, and perfect repentance, that, for the time to come, we may, with pure spirits, contrite hearts, and holy desires, serve thee religiously; walking humbly with thee, our God, and justly and charitably with men; possessing our

souls in patience and holiness, and our bodies in sanctification and honour.

O thou, in whose presence is no darkness, we, thy servants, whom thou hast preserved during the night, and who now live by thy power, do bless and glorify thee for the defence and care of thy Almighty providence; and humbly pray thee to keep us this day, and all our days, in health, peace, and safety. Send thy Holy Spirit to be the guide of our ways, and the guard of our souls. Keep us in thy faith, fear, and love: give unto us the light of thy countenance, peace from heaven, and the salvation of our souls in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Hear, also, our prayers, O Lord, for thy holy Catholic Church: remember all them whom thou hast appointed to be stewards of thy holy mysteries; give them wisdom and charity, diligence and zeal; direct and bless their labours. Preserve, O King of heaven, all Christian princes, more especially our gracious Sovereign; crown them with justice and peace, and with the love of thee, and of their people.

O blessed God, who art rich in mercy and compassion, have mercy upon all states of men in the Christian Church: remember the poor and needy, the widow and fatherless, the sick and afflicted: give them help as thou seest expedient for them, and in the mean time a sanctified use of their afflictions.

Let these our prayers, O Lord, find access to the throne of grace, through the Son of thy love, our blessed Mediator and Advocate, Jesus Christ the righteous; to whom, with thee, O Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, be all glory, thanks, and honour, all love and obedience, for ever and ever.
