glory, we may be made like unto him in his eternal and glorious kingdom; where with thee, O Father, and thee, O Holy Ghost, he liveth and reigneth, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

LORD, who hast taught us that all our doings without charity are nothing worth; Send thy Holy Ghost, and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of charity, the very bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whosoever liveth is counted dead before thee. Grant this, for thine only Son Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

LORD God Almighty, who didst endue thy holy Apostles with singular gifts of the Holy Ghost; Leave us not, we beseech thee, destitute of thy manifold gifts, nor yet of grace to use them alway to thy honour and glory; but daily increase in us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of knowledge and true godliness; and fill us, O Lord, with the spirit of thy holy fear, now and for ever; that we running the way of thy commandments, may obtain thy gracious

promises, and be made partakers of thy heavenly treasure, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LORD, we beseech thee mercifully to hear us; and grant that we, to whom thou hast given an hearty desire to pray, may by thy mighty aid be defended and comforted in all dangers and adversities; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

SATURDAY EVENING.

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving: and will call upon the Name of the Lord.

I

PSALM 111.

WILL give thanks unto the Lord with my whole heart: secretly among the faithful, and in the congregation.

2 The works of the Lord are great: sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

G

3 His work is worthy to be praised, and had in honour and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 The merciful and gracious Lord hath so done his marvellous works that they ought to be had in remembrance.

5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him he shall ever be mindful of his covenant.

6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment: all his commandments are true.

8 They stand fast for ever and ever: and are done in truth and equity.

9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever; holy and reverend is his Name.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do thereafter; the praise of it endureth for ever.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.

Let us pray.

GOD, whose nature and property is ever to have mercy and to forgive, receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound with the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of thy great mercy loose us; for the honour of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

Τυ

NURN thou us, O good Lord, and so shall we be turned. Grant us true repentance; forgive us all our sins, negligences, and ignorances; and endue us with the grace of thy Holy Spirit to amend our lives according to thy holy Word; that truly serving thee in holiness and righteousness all our days, we may come at last to thy eternal joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

GOD, whose never failing providence

ordereth all things both in heaven and earth; We humbly beseech thee to put away from us all hurtful things, and to give us those things which be profitable for us. And, because we cannot continue in

safety without thy succour, preserve us evermore by thy help and goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

GOD, who didst at first appoint the

sacred rest of the Sabbath as a sign between thee and us, of thy mercy in the creation of the world, and afterwards as a memorial of the resurrection of thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord; prepare our hearts so to use these days of rest and of public worship, that our prayers and praises may be acceptable in thy sight. Give us grace to serve thee with reverence reverence and godly fear; affect us with an awful apprehension of thy Divine Majesty, and a deep sense of our unworthiness; that so approaching thy sanctuary with lowliness and devotion, and coming before thee with grateful hearts, and minds sanctified, we may at length be found worthy of a part in thy eternal rest, and in the continual hymns of angels and blessed spirits in the life to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

MOST merciful Father, we beseech thee

to send upon the ministering servants
