The actual strength of the army on June 30, 1909, including the Porto Rico Regiment and the Philippine Scouts was 4,232 officers and 77,341 enlisted men-total, 81,573. There were lost to the army in the year ended June 30, 1909, 167 officers and 26,564 enlisted men. There were two enlisted men of the regular army and one enlisted man of the Philippine Scouts killed in action, and one man of the regular army fatally wounded in the year ended June 30, 1909. There were in the Porto Rico Regiment on June 20, 1909, 24 officers and 551 enlisted men, and in the Philippine Scouts 160 officers an1 5,586 enlisted men.
