The

*** Mr. Robinson, in presenting himself again before the public, redeems a promise made upon concluding his late work on Rural Architecture; and he does so, from a conviction that every man, who has devoted some time and attention to this subject, may add to the store of human knowledge, and contribute the result of his experience in aid of those who may be pursuing the same course. habit of long and severe application to the study of architecture from his early youth may authorize the step he has taken, and as most of the Designs have been carried into effect, they may be of use to others in affording hints which, no doubt, will be improved upon. But the chief inducement, in venturing again to present the fruits of his professional practice, is a conviction that something is still wanting to reform that absence of taste and good feeling which is so manifest in most of our modern buildings, where the aid of the architect has not been sought in creating them. The Designs will be given in various styles of architecture-all indeed which are capable of being applied to our domestic purposes, so as to produce good, airy, and cheerful rooms. It will be comprised in Twelve Monthly Numbers, each presenting a complete Design, explained by Plans and Elevations, and accompanied by a perspective View, in order to show the general effect. Sections and interior perspective views of the principal Apartments, with plans and details of the Lodges and Outbuildings, will be introduced as occasion may require: but each Number will be complete in itself, so that it may be purchased separately, for the accommodation of those who may be inclined to select particular Designs.
