The Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek, &c. to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound: to proclaim the accepta ble year of the Lord, &c. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, &c. Isa. Ixi. 1-3.

I will feed them in good pasture, and they shall lie in a good fold: and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. I will feed my flock, and will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God: I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away: I will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick, &c. And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them; even my servant David, he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.-Ezek. xxxiv. 14-16. 23. Luke xix. 10.

Out of thee shall come a governor (or captain) that shall rule (or feed) my people.-Matt. ii. 6.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him, &c. Learn of me.-Matt.xi. 27. 29. Luke x. 22, 23. The dayspring from on high hath visited us, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet in the way of peace. Luke i. 78, 79. ii. 32.

I will give you a mouth, and wis dom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay, nor resist. Luke xxi. 15. Matt. x. 19, 20.

Jesus, beginning at Moses and all the prophets, expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures. Luke xxiv. 26, 27.45.

I am the light of the world: he that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life, &c. If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, &c.—John viii. 12. 31, 32.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep, &c. I know my sheep, &c. Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. -John x. 11, 12. 14. 16.

To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth: every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice. John xviii. 37.

God, who, &c. spake in times past to the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, &c. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, &e.Heb. i. 1, 2. ii. 1.

Wherefore, &c. consider the Apos tle and High Priest of our profes sion, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to him that appointed him; as also Moses was faithful in all his house, &c. Christ as a Son over his own house; whose house are we, &c. Wherefore, &c. to-day if ye will hear

I WILL make him my first-born, &c. My covenant shall stand fast with him.-Ps. lxxxix. 27, 28.

Let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me, and he shall make peace, &c.-Isa.

By the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit.-Zech. ix. 11.

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, &c.—Matt. xvii. 5. Of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace, &c. John i. 16.

I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.— John x. 9.

I am the way, the truth, and the life.-John xiv. 6.

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me (or severed from me) ye can do nothing.-John xv. 4, 5.

It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace; in the world ye shall have tribulation.-John xvi. 7. 33.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one.John xvii. 23.

Jesus Christ, &c. He is that stone

which the builders counted for nothing, which is made the head of the corner.-Acts iv. 10, 11.

Other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ, &c. All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos, &c. all are yours, and ye are Christ's.-1 Cor. iii. 11. 21-23.

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law: but thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ. -1 Cor. xv. 56, 57.

All the promises of God in him are Yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God.—2 Cor. i. 20.

He became poor, that ye, through his poverty, might be rich.-2 Cor. viii. 9.

I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.-Gal. ii. 20.

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, &c. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus; and if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.-Gal. iii. 14. 28, 29.

Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places (or things) in Christ, &c. Chosen us in him, &c. predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ, &c. he hath made us accepted in the beloved, &c. that he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, even in him, &c. that filleth all in all.-Eph. i. 3 -6. 10. 23.

Hath quickened us together with Christ, &c. and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus; Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone, in whom all the building, fitly framed together, groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord, in whom you are builded together for an habitation of God, &c.-Eph. ii. 5, 6. 20–22.

That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ, &c. The unsearchable riches of Christ. -Eph. iii. 6. 8.

Grow up into him in all things, who is the head, Christ: from whom the whole body is fitly joined together.-Eph. iv. 15, 16.

called us unto his eternal glory by Jesus Christ.-1 Pet. v. 10.

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; anoint thine eyes with eye-salve, that thou mayest see.-Rev. iii. 18.

We are the circumcision, &c. which rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.-Phil. iii. 3. It pleased the Father, that in him GOD'S FREE CHOICE OF US IN CHRIST should all fulness dwell, &c. Christ in (or among) you the hope of glory, whom we preach, warning every man, &c. that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.-Col. i. 19. 27, 28.

In him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily; and ye are complete in him, who is the head, &c. Not holding the head, from which all the body, by joints and bands, having nourishment ministered and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.-Col. ii. 9, 10. 19.

Your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, &c. Put on the new man, &c. Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, &c. but Christ is all in all, &c. And whatsoever ye do, in word, or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, &c. -Col. iii. 3, 4. 10, 11. 17. 1 Cor. i. 30. ii. 2.

Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.-2 Tim. i. 9, 10.

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?—Heb. ii. 3.

In that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.-Heb. ii. 18. By one offering, he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified, &c. -Heb. x. 14.

Ye are built up, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.-1 Pet. ii. 5. Heb. xiii. 15.

The God of all grace, who hath

I WILL be gracious to whom I will be gracious; and I will shew mercy to whom I will shew mercy.-Exod. xxxiii. 19.

And ye shall be holy unto me, for I, the Lord, am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.-Levit. xx. 26.

Thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God; the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth: the Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people: for ye were the fewest of all people: but because the Lord loved you, &c.-Deut. vii. 6-8. xiv. 2.

Only the Lord had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.-Deut.

x. 15.

The angel of the Lord appeared unto Manoah's wife, and said unto her, &c. Thou shalt conceive and bear a son, &c. the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb.Judges xiii. 2-5.

The Lord will not forsake his people for his great name's sake, because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.-1 Sam. xii. 22.

And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to

himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things? &c. For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel, to be a people unto thee for ever; and thou, Lord, art become their God.-2 Sam. vii. 23, 24. When Elijah had complained against Israel, and concluded, saying, And I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life: God answered him, Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.-1 Kings xix. 4. 10. 18.

Woe unto him who striveth with his Maker: let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth: shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? Woe unto him who saith unto his father, What begettest thou? &c.-Isa. xlv. 9, 10.

I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction, &c. for mine own sake will I do, &c.-Isa. xlviii, 10, 11. Zech. xiii. 9.

The Lord hath called thee as a woman forsaken, and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.-Isa. liv. 5, 6.

I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. Isa. lxv. 1. Rom. x. 20. xv. 21. Isa. lv. 5.

The Lord said to Jeremiah, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee: and before thou camest out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.Jer. i. 5.

When God gave out the great promises of a new heart, a new spirit, &c. He said, Not for your sakes do I this, be it known unto you; be ashamed, &c. Ezek, xxxvi. 22. 25-32. xx, 43, 44,

When I, &c. saw thee polluted in thy blood, I said unto thee when thou

wast in thy blood, Live, &c.—Ezek. xvi. 6. 8.

It shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.-Hosea i. 10.

I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy: and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou, my people; and they shall say, Thou my God.-Hosea ii. 23. Zech. ii. 10, 11.

O children of Israel, &c. you only have I known of all the families of the earth.-Amos iii. 1, 2.

I have loved you, saith the Lord, &c. Was not Esau Jacob's brother? &c. yet I loved Jacob and hated Esau. Mal. i. 2, 3.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight.-Matt. xi. 25, 26. Luke x. 21.

It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given, &c. Therefore speak I to them in parables; because they, seeing, see not, &c. Blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.-Matt, xiii. 11. 13. 16. Mark iv. 11, 12. 34,

I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? So the last shall be first, and the first last for many be called, but few chosen, &c. To sit on my right

hand, and on my left, is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. -Matt. xx. 14-16. 21. 23. Mark x. 40. Jesus called Simon, and Andrew, and James, and John, to follow him; and they did so.-Mark i, 16—20.

Except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved; but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. Mark xiii. 20.

Thy wife Elizabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John: he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, &c. He shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.-Luke i. 13. 15.

Many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, &c. when great famine was throughout all the land: but unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, &c. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet, and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.-Luke iv. 25-27.

Christ called Zacchaeus to come down, &c. and he received him joyfully: and Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house: forsomuch as he also is the son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and save that which was lost.-Luke xix. 5, 6. 8-10.

All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me: and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out, &c. This is the Father's will, &c. that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, &c. There are some of you that believe not, &c. No man can come unto me, except it were given him of my Father. John vi. 37. 39. 64, 65,

Jesus called the blind man, whom he had healed, and discovered himself to him. John ix. 35-39.

Other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold, &c. Ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, &c.

My sheep hear my voice.-John x. 16. 26, 27.

They believed not on him, that the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, &c. Lord who hath believed? &c. Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, He hath blinded their eyes, &c.John xii. 37–41.

I speak not of you all, I know whom I have chosen.-John xiii. 18.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, &c. I have chosen you out of the world, &c.-John xv. 16. 19.

That he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him, &c. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me, &c. I pray not, &c. but for them which thou gavest me out of the world.-John xvii. 2. 6. 9.

The promise is made to you and your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call, &c. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.-Acts ii. 39. 47.

Philip sent on purpose to meet the Eunuch, and commanded to go near his chariot, where he preached unto him, and converted him.-Acts viii. 26 -29. 36, 37.

Paul was persecuting the Church, &c. and was converted in the midst of his rage &c. And Christ said to Ananias, Go thy way, for he is a chosen vessel to bear my name before the Gentiles, &c. And I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name.-Acts ix. 1-6. 15, 16. xxii. 14.

God in a special manner calls Cornelius to the faith.-Acts x. 1, 2, &c.
