NINETEENTH ANNUAL CONVENTION CAPE MAY HOTEL,
CAPE MAY, N. J., JULY 21 to 24, 1913

OUR MOTTO: "Something to be Done By and For Every Member.

MARCH, 1913

TEMPORA MUTANTUR

Demetrius, the silversmith of Ephesus, was orator of the day and spoke on this wise: "Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth. Not only this our craft is in danger to be set at naught; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised and her magnificence should be destroyed whom all the world worshippeth."

The whole city was in confusion and they that heard were full of wrath. All with one voice, about the space of two hours, cried out, "Great is Diana of the Ephesians."

Nineteen centuries have lapsed since then. Every generation has had its cry. All classes and conditions have felt the danger of their craft being set at naught. Modern instances are found in the ill concealed confusion of the bankers over the establishment of the postal savings banks; of express companies re parcels post, and of lawyers over the ascendency of trust and abstract companies, adjustment agencies and the like.

Great is the Pocket Book. When it is threatened, wrath cries aloud. Yet strange to relate, those who deserve to live still live. Those who bring their business or profession in harmony with the changing conditions, which time works constantly, suffer no irreparable injury. Shall ve not join with those who rise superior to circumstance, rather than compose the crowd which cries to no purpose?
