THE registration of voters is required in the States of Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia and Wyoming. In Georgia registration is required in most counties by local law, and in South Dakota in a few counties.
