Such knowledge is too wonderful and excellent for me: I cannot attain unto it.

Whither fhall I go from thy Spirit or whither fhall I flee from thy prefence?

if I afcend up into heaven, thou art there if I make my bed in hell, thou art there also.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermoft parts of the fea: even there fhall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand fhall hold me.

If I fay, furely the darkness shall cover me: even the night fhall be light about me.

Yea, the darkness is no darkness with thee, but the night is as clear as the day: the darkness and light

to thee are both alike.

For thou haft poffeffed my reins: thou haft covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise thee, for I am won

derfully made: marvellous are thy works, and that my foul knoweth right well.

My bones were not hid from thee: when I was made in fecret, and curiously wrought beneath in the earth,

Thine eyes did fee my substance yet being unperfect and in thy book were all my members written,

which day by day were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

How precious are thy thoughts unto me, O God: how great is the fum of them!

If I should count them, they are more in number than the fand : when I wake up, I am ftill with

thee.

Search me, O God, and know the ground of my heart: prove me, and examine my thoughts.

Look well if there be any way of wickednefs in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised: and his greatness is unfearchable.

One generation fhall praise thy works unto another and declare thy power.

:

As for me, I will be talking of the glorious honour of thy majefty: and of thy wondrous works.

So that men fhall speak of the a might of thy marvellous acts, and declare thy Greatness: they fhall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and fhall fing of thy righteoufnefs.

f Jehovah is gracious, and full of compaffion: flow to anger, and of great mercy.

The Lord is good to all and his tender mercies are over all his works. All thy works fhall praise thee, O LORD, and thy faints fhall bless thee: they fhall fpeak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

To make known to the fons of men thy mighty acts: and the glo. rious majefty of thy kingdom.

Thy kingdom is an everlafting kingdom and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

The Lord upholdeth all that fall: and raiseth up all thofe that are bowed down.

The eyes of all wait upon thee: and thou givest them their meat in due feafon.

Thou openeft thine hand and fatisfieft the defire of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in all his ways and holy in all his works.

The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him to all that call - upon him in truth.

He will fulfill the defire of them

that fear him: he alfo will hear their cry, and will help them.

My mouth fhall fpeak the praife of Jehovah: and let all fiefh give thanks unto his holy name for ever and ever.

(147) Raife ye the Lord, for it is good to fing praises anto our God: for it is pleafant, and praife is comely.

The Lord doth build up Jerufalem: he gathereth together the outcafts of Ifrael.

He healeth the broken in heart: and bindeth up their wounds.

He telleth the number of the stars: and calleth them all by their names. Great is our LORD, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The Lord lifteth up the meek: and cafteth the ungodly down to the ground.

Sing unto the Lord with thankfgiving: fing praise upon the harp unto our God;

Who covereth the heaven with clouds: who prepareth rain for the earth, and maketh grafs to grow up

on the mountains ;

Who giveth fodder unto the cattle: and feedeth the young ravens that call upon him.

He delighteth not in the strength of a horfe: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

But the Lord's delight is in them that fear him in thofe that put their trust in his mercy. Praife the LORD, O Jerufalem: praife thy God, O Zion.

For he hath made fast the bars of

thy gates: and hath blessed thy children within thee.

He maketh peace in thy borders:

Thou haft kept that which thou haft promised: thou fpakeft with thy mouth, and haft fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven, and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee.

Have refpect therefore to the prayer of thy fervant, and to his fupplication, O Lord my God: that thine eyes may be open upon this houfe day and night, whereof thou haft faid, that thou wouldst put thy name there.

Hearken unto the fupplications of thy fervant and of thy people, which they fhall make: hear thou from thy dwelling-place, even from heaven; and when thou heareft, forgive.
