5. Tender Joy and childlike Trembling,

I find in me, paft diffembling;
For the Food to which I'm bidden,
And its Mode and manner hidden,
Give me caufe for exclamation,
Lord, how great's thy Operation!
Who can paint with reafon's pencil
Thy Omnipotence's Counfel?

6. No, our mind is far too shallow, In this Wonder thee to follow; How thy Bread's ne'er fpent nor wafted,

Though by many thousands tafted?
How we with the grape's production,
Get Chrift's Blood by myftic fuction?
O the wonders deep and bleffed,
By God's Sp'rit alone expressed.
7. Jefu! Sun which me enlightens,
And my poor Existence brightens !
Ground of my Salvation's ftructure,
My life's Source,my thought's inftru-

At thy feet I here fall proftrate,
Thy Aim let me no ways
fruftrate;
But to th' bettering my condition,
And thy praise, share this Nutrition
8. Thou thro' love incomparable
Didit from Heav'n stoop to a Stable;
Thy pure Life, us to recover,
To death's fury didst yield over;
And for Ranfom peremptory,
Gav'ft thy Blood, O Lord of glory!

This affords exhilaration,
In thy love's Commemoration.

9. Jefu, Bread of life most dainty!
Be this A&t to me not empty;
Much less let me, to my Damage,
Draw nigh, without hearty homage:
But let me amidst this eating,
Thy Love's Depth be penetrating,
'Till I hence fhall make tranfition
To th' eternal Feaft's fruition.

And the brightest crowns in Heaven.

For the sweets of Righteousness,
In free Grace grow daily stronger:
