A fceptre of righteoufnefs is the fceptre of thy kingdom: thou haft loved righteousness, and hated iniquity;

Therefore God! even thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

And, thou Jehovah! in the beginning haft laid the foundation of the earth and the heavens are the works of thy hands.

Phil. ii.

ET this mind be in which you, was alfo in Chrift Jefus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God;

But emptied himself and took upon him the form of a fervant, and was made in the likeness of men.

And being found in fashion like a man, he humbled himself: and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Wherefore God alfo hath highly exalted him: and given him a name which is above every name.

That at the name of JESUS every knee fhould bow: of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And every tongue fhould confefs, that Jefus Chrift is Jehovah: to the glory of God the Father.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of fins according to the riches of his grace.

That he might gather together in one all things in Chrift: both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, even in him.

The father of glory: hath fet him far above all principality and power, and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come,

And hath put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Which is his body: the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Who is the beginning, the firftborn from the dead: that in all things he might have the pre-eminence.

For it pleafed, that in him should all fuinefs dwell: and by him to reconcile all things unto himself, by him, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven,

Having made peace: through the blood of his cross.

And you, that were sometime alienated, and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death: to prefent you holy, and unblameable, and unreproveable in his fight.

AITH is the fubftance of things hoped for the evidence of things not feen.

Thro" faith we understand, that the worlds were framed by the word of God: fo that things which are feen, were not made of things which do appear.

By it, the elders obtained a good report.

These all died in faith, not having received the promifes, but having feen them afar off, and were perfuaded of them, and embraced them: and confeffed that they were ftrangers and pilgrims on the earth.

For they that fay fuch things: declare plainly, that they seek a country.

And truly if they had been mindful of that country from whence E 3 they

they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned: but now they defire a better country, that is, a heavenly.

Wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

By faith Abraham fojourned in the land of promife, as in a ftrange country dwelling in tabernacles, with Ifaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the fame promife.

For he looked for a city which hath foundations: whofe builder and maker is God.

By faith Mofes, when he was come to years, refused to be called the fon of Pharaoh's daughter: choofing rather to fuffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleafures of fin for a feafon;

Efteeming the reproach of Chrift greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had refpect unto the

of reward.

And others had trial of cruel mockings and fcourgings: yea moreover, of bonds and imprisonment;

They were ftoned, they were fawn afunder, were tempted, were flain with the fword: they wandered about in fheep-fkins and goatskins, being deftitute, afflicted, tormented;

(Of whom the world was not worthy :) they wandered in defarts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

And these all having obtained a good report thro' faith: received not the promise;

God having provided fome better thing for us that they without us fhould not be made perfect.

Behold, I will make them of the fynagogue of fatan, (which fay they are Jews, and are not; but do lye) behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience: I alfo will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which fhall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Behold, I come quickly! hold that faft which thou haft, that no man take thy crown.

Him that overcometh, will I make a pillar in the temple of my God: and he fhall go no more out;

JOHN wept much: because no man was found worthy to open

and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

And one of the elders faith unto him: weep not, behold, the lion of vid, hath prevailed,

To open the book and to loofe. the feven feals thereof.

And he beheld, and lo, in the midft of the throne, and of the four living beings, and in the midst of the elders ftood a Lamb, as it had been flain having seven horns and feven eyes, which are the feven fpirits of God fent forth into all the

earth.

And he came and took the book: out of the right hand of him that fat upon the throne.

And when he had taken the book: the four living beings and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb,

Having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours; which are the prayers of the faints.

And they fung a new fong, faying: Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the feals thereof.

For thou wait flain: and haft redeemed us to God by thy blood, out of every kindred and tongue, and people and nation;

And haft made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

And John beheld, and heard the voice of many angels round about the throne, and the living beings, and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thoufand, and thousands of thoufands;

And the four living beings faid, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down, and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Rev. xxi and xxii.

JOHN faw the holy city, new fe

rufalem, coming down from God out of heaven: prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Having the glory of God: and

precious, clear as crystal.

:

And he had a wall great and high and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Ifrael.

And he faw no temple therein: for the LORD God almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple of it.

And there fhall in no wife enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie but they which are written in the lamb's book of life.

In the midst of the fireet of it, and of either fide of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits: and yielded her fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there fhall be no more curfe : but the throne of God and of the Lamb fhall be in it.

And his fervants fhall ferve him, and they fhall fee his face: and his name fhall be in their foreheads.

And there fhall be no night there, and they need no candle, neither light of the fun: for the LORD God giveth them light, and they shall reign for ever and ever.
