Ver. 16. For the LORD himself shall defcend from heaven with a fhout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of GOD; and the dead in Chrift fhall rife first.

Ver. 17. Then we which are alive and remain, fhall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air.

IV. OfEVERLASTING HAPPINESS in HEAVEN.

Ver. 12. That the name of our LORD Jefus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our GOD, and the LORD Jefus Chrift.

Heb. xi. 9. By faith he fojourned in the land of promife as in a ftrange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Ifaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the fame promise.

Ver. 10. For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whofe Builder and Maker is GOD.

Ver. 16. They defire a better country, that is, an heavenly : Wherefore GOD is not afhamed to be called their GOD, for he hath prepared for them: a city.

John xiv. 2. In my Father's house are many manfions if it were not fo, I would have told you: I go to prepare a place for you.

Ver. 3. And if I go and prepare a place, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.

There remaineth therefore a reft for the people of GOD.

Ver. 16. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither fhall the fun light on them, nor any heat.

Ver. 17. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne fhall feed them, and fhall lead them unto living fountains of waters: And GOD shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Rev. xi. 18. Thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they fhould be judged, and that thou fhouldeft give reward unto thy fervants the prophets, and to the faints, and to them that fear thy name, fmall and great.

Rev. xxi. 22. I faw no temple therein, for the LORD GOD Almighty and the Lamb, are the temple of it.

Ver. 23. The city had no need of the fun, neither of the moon to fhine in it; for the glory of GOD did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Rev. xxii. 5. There fhall be no light there, and they need no candle, neither light of the fun; for the LORD GOD giveth them light, and they fhall reign for ever and ever, If. lx. 19, 20.

1 John iii. 2. Now are we the fons of GOD: And it doth not yet appear what we fhall be; but we

know,

know, that when he fhall appear, we fhall be like him, for we fhall fee him as he is.

John xvii. 22. The glory which thou gaveft me, I have given them, that they may be one, even as

we are one.

Ver. 24. Father, I will that they also whom thou haft given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me.

Freedom from all
Sorrow in Heaven.

Rev. xxi. 4. GOD fhall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there fhall be no more death, neither forrow, nor crying, neither fhall there be any more pain: for the former things are paffed away. I

I. lx. 20. The LORD fhall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

Mat. vi. 20. Treafures in heaven, where neither moth doth corrupt, nor thieves break through and fteal.

Rev. xxii. 3. And there shall be no more curse.

Great Pleafure and
Joy in Heaven.

Glory in Heaven.

Mat. xiii. 43. The righteous fhall fhine forth as the fun, in the kingdom of their Father.

Dan. xii. 3. They that be wife fhall fhine as the brightnefs of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness, as the stars for ever and ever.

Rom. viii. 17. If children, then heirs; heirs of God,

and

and joint heirs with Chrift; if fo be that we fuffer with him, that we may also be glorified together.

Ver. 18. The fufferings of this prefent life are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Ver. 30. Whom he juftified, them he also glorified. 2 Cor. iv. 17. Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Ver. 18. While we look not at the things which are feen, but at the things which are not feen: For the things which are feen are temporal; but the things which are not feen, are eternal.

1 Pet. iv. 13. That when his glory fhall be revealed, ye may be glad alfo with exceeding joy.

Col. iii. 4. When Chrift, who is our life, fhall appear, then fhall ye alfo appear with him in glory.

2 Tim. ii. 10.

That they the elect) may obtain the falvation, which is in Chrift Jefus, with eternal glory.

The Kingdom of
Heaven.

Matt. xxxv. 34. Come, ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the kingdom, prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

Luke vii. 32. It is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

2 Pet. i. II. An entrance fhall be miniftred unto you abundantly into the everlafting kingdom of our LORD and Saviour Jefus Christ.

2 Tim. iv. 18. The LORD will preferve me unto his heavenly kingdom.

Luke xxii. 29. I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me.

Ver. 30. That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and fit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes, of Ifrael.
