Prov. xi. 1. A falfe balance is an abomination unto the LORD; but a juft weight is his delight.

Prov. xv. 27. He that is greedy of gain, troubleth his own houfe; but he that hateth gifts, fhall live. Prov. xvi. 8. Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues without right.

Prov. xxviii. 20. A faithful man abounds with bleffings; but he that maketh hafte to be rich, fhall not be innocent.

Prov. xxi. 3. To do juftice and judgment, is more acceptable to the LORD than facrifice.

Prov. xii. 21. There fhall no evil happen to the juft; but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

I. xxxiii. 15. He that walketh righteously, and fpeaketh uprightly; he that defpifeth the gain of oppreffions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and fhutteth his eyes from feeing evil:

Ver. 16. He fhall dwell on high; his place of defence fhall be the munition of rocks; bread fhall be given him, his waters fhall be fure.

I. lvi. 1. Thus faith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do juftice; for my falvation is near to come, and my righteoufness to be revealed.

XVI. To TRUTH.

Pf. xv. 1. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who fhall dwell in thy hill?

Ver. 2.He that speaketh the truth in his heart. Prov. xii. 19. The lip of truth fhall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Ver. 22. Lying lips are abomination to the LORD; but they that deal truly are his delight.

1 Pet. iii. 10. He that will love life, and fee good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his. lips that they speak no guile, Pfal. xxxiv. 12, 13.

I. To the MEEK, HUMBLE, and CONTRITE.

To the Meek.

PSAL

SAL. xxii. 26. The meek fhall eat, and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that feek him;

your heart fhall live for ever.

Pf. xxv. 9. The meek will he guide in judgment, and the meek will he teach his way.

Pf. xxxvii. 11. The meek fhall inherit the earth, and fhall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Matt. v. 5. Bleffed are the meek, for they fhall inherit the earth.

Pf. cxlvii. 6. The LORD lifteth up the meek; he cafteth the wicked down to the ground.

Pf. cxlix. 4. The LORD taketh pleasure in his people; he will beautify the meek with his falvation.

Zeph. ii. 3. Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; feek righteoufnefs, feek meeknefs: It may be ye fhall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger.
