(2) The Greek Word here rendered take no Thought, fignifies the hav ing anxious, carking, and folicitous Care or Thought; fuch a carefulness as makes the Mind uneafie and unfit for the Performance of our Duty in other refpe&ts; fuch a Care as implies a diftruft of the divine Providence and Promifes, and a cafting off our dependance upon God, without whom all our Care will not profit us. Our bleffed Lord does not forbid a prudent Care and forefight in making Provifion for our Selves and Families, becaufe that is made a Part of our Duty by God.
