DISCOURSE I. Concerning the Witness of the
Ř O M. VIII. 16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our
Spirit that we are the Children of God.
HIS Passage is something difa ficult, and commonly not rightly understood. For the clearing of which there are four Things to be done.
1. To shew what is meant by the Spirit. II. What is meant by the Children of God. III. What is meant by the Spirit's bearing
witness with our Spirit. IV. How, or in what Sense the Spirit
beareth witness with our Spirit that we are the Children of God.
