We beseech thee to hear us, good Lord.

That it may pleafe thee to forgive our enemies, perfecutors, and flanderers, and to turn their hearts; We beseech thee to hear us, good Lord.

That it may please thee to give and preserve to our use the kindly fruits of the earth, fo as in due time we may enjoy them;

We beseech thee to hear us, good Lord.

That it may please thee to give us true repentance; to forgive us all our fins, negligences, and ignorances; and to endue us with the grace of thy Holy Spirit to amend our lives according to thy holy Word;

UR Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trefpafs against us. lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

GOD, merciful Father, that despisest not the fighing of a contrite heart, nor the defire of fuch as be forrowful; Mercifully affift our prayers

that we make before thee in all our troubles and adverfities, whenfoever they opprefs us; and graciously hear us that thofe evils which the craft of men worketh against us, may be brought to nought; and by the providence of thy goodness they may be difperfed; that we thy fervants, being hurt by no perfecutions, may evermore give thanks unto thee in thy holy Church; through Jefus Christ our Lord. O Lord, arife, help us, and deliver us for thy Name's fake.

E humbly befeech thee, O Father, mercifully to look upon our infirmities; and for the glory of thy name turn from us all thofe evils that we have deserved; and grant that in all our troubles, we may put our whole truft and confidence in thy mercy, and evermore serve thee in holiness and pureness of living to thy honour and glory; through our only mediator and advocate, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LMIGHTY God, who hast given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common fupplications unto thee; and haft promised that where thou doft record thy name, there thou wilt come unto thy people and bless them: fulfil now, O Lord, the defires and petitions of thy fervants, as may be moft expedient for them; granting us in this world knowledge of thy truth, and in the world to come life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYERS AND THANKSGIVINGS

UPON SEVERAL OCCASIONS;

To be used before the two final Prayers of the Litany, or of Morning and Evening Prayer: on the occafions calling for them.

1. For Rain.

GOD, heavenly Father, who by thy Son Jefus Chrift haft promised to all them that feek thy kingdom, and the righteoufnefs thereof, all things neceffary to their bodily fuftenance; Send us, we beseech thee, in this our neceffity, fuch moderate rain and showers, that we may receive the fruits of the earth to our comfort, and to thy honour; through Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

11. For fair Weather.

ALMIGHTY Lord God, clouds and darkness are round about thee, yet righteousness and judgement are the habitation of thy throne. Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known. Thou stilleft the noife of the feas, the noise of their waves. All nature is under thy fovereign controul. We humbly beseech thee that thou wilt send us fuch weather, as that we may receive the fruits of the earth in due season, and learn our entire dependence upon thee, and for thy great goodness give thee praise and glory; through Jefus Christ our Lord. Amen.

III. In the time of Dearth and Famine.
GOD, heavenly Father, whose gift it is that

the rain doth fall, the earth is fruitful, beasts increase, and fishes do multiply; behold, we beseech thee, the afflictions of thy people; and grant that the scarcity and dearth which we do now fuffer, may through thy goodness be mercifully turned into cheapness and plenty; increase the fruits of the earth by thy heavenly benediction; and grant that we receiving thy bountiful liberality, may use the fame to thy glory, the relief of those that are needy, and our own comfort; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

IV. In the time of War and Tumults.

ALMIGHTY God, King of all kings, and Governour of all things, whofe power no creature is able to refift, to whom it belongeth juftly to punish finners, and to be merciful to them that truly repent; Save and deliver us, we humbly befeech thee, from the hands of our enemies; incline them and us to seek peace and ensue it; preserve us from all inordinate ambition; engaged in a righteous cause may we be protected by thy Providence from all perils; and evermore glorify thee, who art the judge of all the earth, through Jefus Christ our Lord. Amen.
