TUESDAY, May 2, 1820, I was at Hull,

being the day appointed for the first

annual meeting to commence.

It was ap

pointed for preaching to begin at five o'clock every morning, and at seven at night, in the chapel, and in several of the streets in Hull; and, I believe, it was faithfully attended to. And every night many souls were brought out of darkness into light.

Sunday 7, Hull camp meeting.

Many

thousands attended. Good was done. God

was glorified. At night brother Rudd preach

ed in the chapel, and H. Bourne in the street. Tuesday 9, a love-feast at night, when many souls were converted, and believers sanctified.*

Thursday 11, I went to see a methodist, and went to prayer, and two souls were converted to God. Friday 12, I left Hull and came to Kirton. May 16 and 17, at Kirton, had preaching, and souls converted to God.

Sunday 14, at Sheffield.-Preached at six o'clock in the morning, in Young-street; a good time. At eight, preached at Waterlane, which I suppose to be the wickedest place in Sheffield; but many appeared to be greatly affected, and came in the evening to the chapel. Preached at half-past ten in the

chapel; and at two administered the sacrament of the Lord's supper. It was a solemn time. Preached again in the chapel at six and in the Park at eight. It was a blessed day to many souls.

Monday 22, preached in the chapel, a funeral sermon for one of our dear departed friends. After sermon, renewed the tickets to three classes. A blessed time. The Lord set one soul at liberty; and sanctified another, body, soul, and spirit; and filled several with joy unspeakable and full of glory. O thou King of glory! ride on until the whole earth is subdued, and the whole universe filled with the glory of God.

Tuesday 23, went to a friend's house, and met with several praying souls. The Lord made bare his arm. Two souls were plucked as brands out of the fire. Wednesday 24, preached at Rotherham. A refreshing time.

One was set at liberty, and praised Jehovah. Thursday 25, went to see a sick woman, happy in the Lord; and the Lord converted two others; one of whom was coming into the house to persecute us for making a noise. I met her at the door, got hold of her hand, and spoke to her of death, judgment, and a boundless eternity; about the torments of hell, the joys of heaven, and the dying love of the Redeemer. Tears gushed from her eyes, she cried for mercy; and the Lord heard her cry, brought her out of the horrible pit and miry clay, set her feet upon a rock, and made her very happy.

Monday 29, at Greasbro': after preaching, renewed the tickets.

The Lord saved two;

of whom one had been a backslider ten

years, and had had many bitter moments; but her deliverance was glorious.
