Way to a New World.

remembrance.

to the clerk.

The Amens are rather too much left Let us be more fervent in spirit. And the pause at the close of the sermon is better than it used to be. It is not seemly to rise up from our knees the moment the blessing is pronounced, and hastily take our departure from the house of God. There should be silence for a space, to offer a prayer, that God would be pleased to accept our service, and seal our instruction.

Let not these distinctions appear trivial to you: small things tell: even a feather informs us which way the wind blows. And remember, too, that small things are pretty much in our own keeping, and these lead unto greater and God has somewhere or other, in the living chain of life, hooked on our responsibility; therefore, we should take good heed, and remember, that, according to our works, so shall be our reward.

May God bless to us our meetings together in this house, and, of His infinite mercies, cause us to meet together in the Home of His people, even in heaven itself, for Christ's sake. Amen.

Read slowly, my brethren, thoughtfully, prayerfully.

Suppose we were exploring some secret caverns in the bowels of the earth; and, as we moved slowly, warily along, we suddenly came upon a door on our right. We should certainly stand, and feel a kind of strange sensation, as of wonder and anxiety commingled." See! here's a door; I wonder where it leads
