No. 35.-Guano brought from bonded Islands.

No. 36.-Lumber, &c., the product of Maine, sawed or hewn in New Brunswick and brought back into the United States.

No. 37.-Shipments of domestic merchandise, coin, and bullion between New York and San Francisco, via the Isthmus of Panama. No. 38.-Shipments of foreign merchandise between New York and San Francisco, via the Isthmus of Panama.

NOTE.-The above statements are not included in any other form of statement in this report, nor are the transactions reported therein considered as forming any part of the import and export trade of the country.

No. 34.-Statement showing the Quantities and Values of the PRODUCTS OF THE FISHERIES, taken by American vessels and fishermen, brought into the United States, during the Year ended June 30, 1882.

This information, in regard to fishery products other than whale, is incomplete, owing to the fact that there is no law requiring all products of the fisheries to be reported to the customs officers when landed within a customs district. It is compiled chiefly from information obtained through the personal efforts and inquiries of the customs officers of the several ports from which it is practicable to obtain returns.

GUANO FROM BONDED ISLANDS.

No. 35.-Statement showing the Quantity and Value of GUANO brought from ISLANDS, ROCKS, or KEYS appertaining to the United States, and admitted free of duty into the United States, during the Year ended June 30, 1882.

NOTE."The introduction of guano from such islands, rocks, or keys shall be regulated as in the coasting trade between different parts of the United States, and the sanie laws shall govern the vessels therein."-(Section 5575 of the Revised Statutes.)

LUMBER, THE PRODUCE OF MAINE.

No. 36.- Statement showing the Quantity and Value of LUMBER, &c., the PRODUCE of the State of MAINE, upon the Saint John and Saint Croix Rivers and their tributaries, owned by American citizens, and sawed or hewn in the Province of New Brunswick by American citizens, and admitted free of duty into the United States, under the provisions of article 3 of the Treaty of Washington, dated November 10, 1842, and sections 2508 and 2509 of the Revised Statutes, during the Year ended June 30, 1882.
